Questions about re-barreling a CZ Safari

Good afternoon everyone,

After visiting a local GS, I have come across a CZ Safari Magnum for sale, at what I believe to be a very reasonable price (<$900). The rifle is chambered in 300 H&H according to the markings and sticker. The thing is, I have no use for a 300 H&H, as I already have a 300WBY.

My question, what can I expect to pay to re-barrel the rifle to 375 H&H? I would want to keep the iron sights, which I know would contribute to the price tag.
I don't have it in my possession yet, but I'm definitely considering it!

This is a good idea, there will be folks, some on here who would love a traditional old .300 H&H to a company there big bore CZs .

That is a nice rifle, you should already own it not matter what, it is money in the bank !

Buy that rifle, clean it up and shoot a group with it.

If it groups anywhere near an inch, I'd be willing to bet you can damn near double your money by simply walking around a gunshow with the group, caliber and price taped to the stock.

The 300 H&H wasn't made in anywhere near the numbers that other calibres were. Very desirable, it would be a shame to rebarrel it when 375 H&H are very common.

A high quality barrel is now going around $500, add in $300 for a chamber job, iron sight install and bluing, another $200 +, you're almost at a used original one in .375 H&H.

It looks rough (stock scratches). The 300H&H chambering is virtually a cult for folks who want to shoot Old School cool. So yes, $700-$800 tops.

Apologies for the late reply. A forum member asked me to check on the rifle. The next time I went to the store, it had already sold. I suppose someone knew what they were looking at!
