Prophet River Firearms: Question for my Canadian friends

Recently came across Prophet River Firearms in Loydminster,AB Canada when doing a search for rifle, optics, ammo and brass. Just wondering if they are legit, and if they are ok shipping South of the Border?

They have SAKO ammo, brass and of course rifles that are not going to be good for my credit card balance if they are good to go.

I don't know if they will ship south of the border but I have had many satisfactory dealings with them over the years.

They are a foundational part of the Canadian firearms community and well respected by everyone I know.

They are definitely legit, I have been in their store several times (I live in Lloydminster).

As for shipping to the US I do not know, but give them a call, I am sure they would be more than helpful.

They are a very good company. I have dealt with then for years.
Exporting a firearm is a different subject. Ask them.
When I export a rifle I use Border View, a customs agency.

That would be a steal especially in Canadian dollars, but they have an import/export tab on their website that says they will not export to US.

A good company, which often has things those in big cities don’t.

I very much doubt they can send any ammo, firearms or firearms related items outside of Canada, but won’t hurt to ask.

I’m happy for you, but their website says:

“Prophet River will take care of all your Importing needs, however we do not Export from Canada to the U.S. (except for certain warranty returns).”

The question - at least as I read it - was whether Prophet River would export to the US, not whether there were others who might be able and willing to do that.

That's obvious, genius. " I am Happy for you." is a small minded thing to say to a person who is just trying to help.
I was trying to add a next step option, having done it several times. You are now on my ignore list.

I’m not sure much will come out of trying to explain, but here goes.

You quoted “You doubt it very much” (actually, the quote was “I doubt it very much . . .). And then went on to say that you export rifles from Canada (using someone else). So my response was a variation on “great, but that’s not what the OP asked.” ( “. . . If they are OK shipping South of the Border?”). So my post was, in fact, correct.

Perhaps my choice of words could have been better, but then so could the reaction.

In any event, now that I’m being ignored (!), you’ll likely not see this . . . So it makes no difference. . . . To you or to my day.

Loaded ammo I believe is viewed a bit differently from components such as unprimed brass and bullets.

I did purchase several boxes of Woodleigh RNSN for my 450/400 and 375 Flange from them back end of May. They agreed to ship to Alaska without difficulty. They do use some third-party for international orders which added something like $45 to my shipping if I recall correctly.

It took a bit of extra time to arrive, but all boxes arrived safely. Nothing but positive feedback on Prophet from my point of view.

Jay is the boss/owner at Prophet River, but the staff are well trained and knowledgable. On something that is bit complicated like this I ask for Jay. If I am phoning about a tricky subject I might ask the lady who answers the phone, "who is there today that is the best at....". It usually goes well from there.

I’ve purchased a pistol among other things from them. 100% legit. I’m not sure what they can or will ship across the border. As someone mentioned above, it’s best to just ask them.

I did fill out a form to ask a question about the product and asked if they would ship to the U.S. They have 2 boxes of the SAKO ammo in stock, and 4 boxes of the NOSLER ammo in stock. The NOSLER is $219 a box, but I'll take what I can get.

Just received a reply from Chris at Prophet River.

We can sell it to you and have it shipped to an Exporter. They would then have to import it into the US for you. I have included a link to one I recommend. You should explore what the costs of that is with them first.

Someone on here was trying to get someone in Alaska to ship a similar rare ammunition to the lower 48 last year. I wonder what the result of that was.

Conversion is $155 a box.

Cross nation paperwork. 2-3 months. $300

Cross nation shipping, most likely someone driving it across to a Washington Fedex after they do the import paperwork. $300.

Huge savings.

Could order 450 Rigby brass from a Huelsenmanfactur here in Germany 7 euros each minimum 50, order a 100 for 700 Euros plus export and shipping figure another 120. So about $1000 out the door

Bullets Swift 450 or 500 grains $106 per 50, $212, plus $30 shipping USA side. Probably some deals to be had.

3 cans of powder shipped $250
100 primers $20

Under $1400 and way less headache. For 100 rounds.

Versus Prophet Sako
100 rounds is $1300. plus shipping and export, way harder as it is loaded ammo.

I don't see Sako 450 Rigby cases in stock anywhere here in Germany or anywhere else in Europe.

HM has them, this is part of the Johannsen family.

I have found them to be a great company to deal with. Not sure about shipping across the border though.
