I have a greater Kudu cape that I had tanned last year at my local taxidermist thinking I would then do the full shoulder mount on later. After deciding to just leave it as a euro mount I now have a cape that I don't need. I was wondering what the going rate for an already tanned Kudu cape is. There is some hair loss but mostly on just one side. What's a fair price to ask for it?

I sold one maybe a year ago for about the cost of tanning. I think it was around 500, but mine was in very good condition, that will be a factor.

I have traded mine back to the taxidermist for the tanning price and credit to future work. Maybe more in selling but I don’t want to mess with all that back and forth.

I thought about bringing my last kudu cape home and selling it to my taxidermist here in Colorado. When I figured out the cost of bringing it back I just decided leave it at the skinning shed.

That is my plan at this point, I'm not paying the prices to bring stuff back and have it mounted. I have spent 10s of thousands on that stuff in the past and it just dumb. I don't a actually care that much and the chances anyone cares when I am gone is basically zero.

Hi Jon,
I saw your post for the .500 NE cases. Are these all brass or are they nickel plated? Hard for me to tell... sorry.
Thanks,
