That's what I don't get... it's Trump trolling, and nobody should take him seriously - he's just angling for a better deal, or so say some. What have you been smoking?! Carney REMOVED the carbon tax on fuel within days after taking office (before he even had an election mandate if memory serves correctly)! He's also kickstarted the pipeline project that Trudeau stalled. Or he's trying to anyway. Carney "trying to ban all firearms" is just bullshit. There are many on this thread who say that President Trump is just trolling, and we ought not to take him so seriously.

I can tell you that from a business perspective, the constant threats to impose tariffs, to increase tariffs, to remove tariffs, etc., have real world consequences. Foreign goods ordered by American companies will often sit in warehouses and on docks until uncertainty regarding prices is resolved. Last year, for example, Tuscan ports were backed up with wine which would normally have been shipped to the US. US importers had told the producers to hold off shipping until the issue of 15%, 39%, 100% tariffs, were resolved. This created enormous hardship for wineries which rely on the sales proceeds of the annual vintage to fund their operations, and to pay their supply chains.

This is just one example.

Business needs certainty and suffers in times of uncertainty. And ‘trolling’ is creating more uncertainty for business than we have seen since the financial meltdown of 2008. And before someone says the stock market is doing well, understand that the S&P isn’t a good proxy for the world and small business.

Unless I’m mistaken the carbon tax is still alive and well it was only removed on the consumer, manufacturers simply pass it on to the consumer anyways thru price increases so in effect Canadians are still paying the carbon tax just not paying the carbon tax twice.

Mark carney is a disgrace to Canada and I’m embarrassed as a constituent of Chris D’entremonts that he crossed the floor and moved the liberals that much closer to a majority.
