Wonder what the talking heads in Sacramento are saying about this today. Good to see Orange County change back. Not sure if the votes are in yet but do you know if Orange County has returned to more Republican Congressmen than Democrats this election.
Incumbents are leading so far, including the Democrat Levin. Open seat left by Porter is a toss-up. CA allows mail in ballots postmarked on day of election as long as they arrive by Nov. 12, so it might be a while for close races to be decided.

...and just like that, Bellwether counties are accurate again.

I have shot AK´s..G3.. FN FAL and the M14..most of them extensively...I prefer the M14 (own one). Its lighter..more handy, better sights and much better trigger pull (two stage..).

You owe it to yourself to try the French MAS 49-56. Same generation as the FAL, G3, M14, etc. but shorter and handier; hard hitter in 7.5x54 (French equivalent to 7.62x51); and with reliable QD scope side-mount directly machined in the forged action (hence a lot more reliable/repeatable than mounts attached to action covers e.g. FAL. G3, or attached almost as an afterthought on the action e.g. M14).

Here is mine in the somewhat rare MSE (Modified St Etienne) configuration (adjustable stock with pistol grip), with its issued APX L 806 4x scope. Not a sniper rifle by any definition, but a good designated marksman rifle, capable of hitting reliably and consistently a torso target out to 600 meters.

There are still some MSA 49-56 surplus, some unissued or arsenal refinished, floating on Gun Broker, and if you are patient some APX L 806 scopes also show up on Gun Broker now and then. Ammo is no problem with PPU producing and importing in the US abundant 7.5x54 new ammo (with reloadable brass) loaded to the French military spec, hence compatible with the scope BDC.

PS: sorry to sort of hi-jack the political thread with this ;)

I really do not understand why this is such a hot potato for both side of the aisle. I know from the right it might be xenophobia coupled with not wanting ANY immigrants as seen by some posts here and the media. The left wants open borders, but is resistant to qualified and vetted immigrants, maybe they only want immigrants that would be dependent on government largesse and hence vote Democrat in the future once they get citizenship?

Either way, it needs to be fixed.
I don't know a single person on the right who is opposed to immigration.

I only think we need to pump the brakes on the volume who are immigrating here. Where ever they are from, if they are permitted to migrate en masse the way the Italians, Jews, and eastern Europeans did in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, they are afforded the luxury of being able to live amongst each other, not having to get "Americanized." I do not believe that is a kindness.

They also didn't have to go through a vetting center like Ellis Island, where so much as a ringworm could have you put right on the boat and sent back and were also held to a probationary period where so much as an arrest would have you sent back.

We have two types of immigrants (legal ones), individuals whether by merit or familial connections (marriage, parents etc.) and groups due to asylum laws. The asylum ones are usually moved en masse. Not sure if those can be forced to split up from their communities as they most likely would not speak English.

Just scroll a few pages when we were discussing birth rate reductions and needing immigrants.

Immigration remains a strength for every country which is capable of controlling it, as the US and Europe did for so long up to the 90's.

Just having immigrants follow the legal process (which includes: required qualifications, quotas by countries, meaningful documentation, appropriate verification, etc.) will work :)

I went through it in the late 1980's, first with a H-2B Temporary Non-Agricultural Workers visa, then an EB-5 Investor Visa, then a Green Card, then Naturalization. Believe me it was not sloppy :)

Folks tend to confuse legal immigration with open uncontrolled borders, and asylum claims have become grossly misused......................................................

The DOJ arrested gay Trump supporter Scott Presler for being outside the Capitol on January 6. Not having the financial resources to fight the charges he plead guilty. His response was to move to Pennsylvania and set up a grassroots organization to register voters including the Amish. They registered 10's of thousands prior to the election. In part due to Presler's actions, Pennsylvania voted red and swapped a senator and two congressmen. We may never know what would have happened without the DOJ's overreach.

My favorite 2024 election results.
Shows just what a Swamp DC is and how isolated they are from the rest of the country.

IIRC, The Don was inthe upper 20 double digits, while The Cackler was at nine(?) or DC may have given her 12(?).

Does anyone else wonder why all the Dems and libtard media heads keep blaming everything and everyone for their loss except for their own decision to insert a candidate instead of giving the people the power to choose one?

Largely because the DNC is the party for women and beta males, and women have a genetic disposition for not accepting responsibility/accountability.

Because they would be fired if they said such a thing???

Also, accountability is a shrinking virtue on that side.
