Well......color me shocked. The DOJ will not prosecute Garland for contempt of Congress. They only prosecute Republicans.
Steve Bannon has to report next month for his 4 month prison sentence for contempt of congress.
These are despicable people, and I have a seething hatred for the entire Democrat administration and all their leftist flying monkey's combined
I would like nothing more, than to see them all in shackles.

I can understand the list of likes to your posts. But what always interests me the most is the silence of those who don’t respond in any way. Kind of telling me thinks. ;)

We are witnessing the destruction of our country to the sound of crickets…

With all do respect, and fully acknowledging the potential corrosive effects of both DEI and CRT, what you are proposing is idealistic nonsense.

Do you believe we should broadcast a message to the world that we are no longer interested in our national interests abroad so please don't take advantage of us or our allies for the next decade or so? Your fixation on what you believe is the crumbling foundations of our country will be equally irrelevant if the foundation of our economic prosperity, every bit of which rests on a complex network of unimpeded international trade, is disrupted by a newly resurgent Russia and further emboldened China. Domestic and international issues are both important and one can not be addressed at the expense of the other.
Also we are often the sum of our experiences. Being born and raised in California, then spending most of my adult life there minus my time in the military, then spending 25 years in law enforcement there policing a large population at the street level for most of my career and later commanding officers on patrol and various critical incidents perhaps gives me a different perspective than you and we’re specifically talking about urban matters here.

I have literally watched this once great state disintegrate before my very eyes. Of course one could write a book about it so it would be impossible for me to sum up in a few paragraphs the various reasons that caused this like decriminalizing laws and arbitrarily flushing thousands of violent criminals out of the prisons in the name of social justice to prey upon citizens. The decline is real, the disintegration is real and it is occurring in almost every major city in the U.S. Whether this is by design I won’t comment but it is happening. If we cannot maintain law and order, maintain the rule of law in this great country, we will have chaos. One could say you get what you vote for, but even the average voter with the attention span of a gnat didn’t intend for this.

Due to the nature of this forum, African hunting, more than a few members are of means and have accrued some amount of wealth (certainly not all) and are shielded from much of this blight in their community and perhaps in their day to day lives but it’s starting to bleed over even into the affluent areas and even celebrities in California are being directly impacted, even affecting their lives now. Go on a ride along and see for yourself In any large city.

How is this even relevant to Russia and Ukraine? I freely admit I am a novice on these international matters, only educating myself by having an interest in history and attempting to dissect the news from a variety of sources since it’s difficult to obtain unbiased information. The disintegration in the U.S. is real, it’s alarming and I’ve been an eye witness to it. It is so concerning to me that I simply cannot dismiss it in lieu of international crisis. Can we as a country manage various international crisis simultaneously, well sure, but let’s not forget Rome is burning. Clearly, there are those who are not alarmed but I suspect they are sheilded from this by a certain amount of wealth but it will come knocking at their door eventually. Hopefully this gives you some perspective on my thought process.

House speaker Mike Johnson, stated that the house will go to court to enforce the subpoena against Merrick Garland, after the DOJ refused to prosecute Garland for contempt.
We'll see if these dickless wonder's have what it takes, or if it's just more of the usual republican bluster.

Hey just because I spend most of my time on an island does not mean I am shielded!

In all seriousness, I appreciate you sharing your perspective and experiences. It is one of the best parts of this forum. I bet you have many great stories from your time as an officer.

Thanks Saul. Yes, I have many! My wife used to live in Key West. Someday I’d like to visit and try some conch chowder!

Back in the day we were allowed to actually catch clean and eat conch. Believe it or not it was salt water and you didn’t need a fishing license. The keys were a magical place to grow up in. I truly miss home.

We are also shielded from the facts: consider that nearly 40% of our largest cities don't report crime statistics to the FBI, so I have heard. The stats then say crime is "down" but it is just underreported.

I bet that was super cool.
One of my favorite grade school books was about a key deer and the relationship between a boy and his uncle. I liked the book so much, I recently tracked it down and bought it off ebay.

Correct, this is widespread IMO. When DA’s aren’t prosecuting, police no longer policing, crime is therefore not being reported, what for? The only accurate statistic is homicide. Crime is down in SF, yeah right. Your eyes and being there tell you differently.

A remarkable number of people don't even realize that the military pays taxes at the same rates as everyone else.
i had the occasional knuckehead tell me "I am a taxpayer, you work for me!" (i was a sgt-msgt) i would cheerfully reply "i too am a taxpayer, so...I am self employed!!" :)

Meanwhile back at the front, the Ukrainian military continues to show remarkable technological adaptability as it executes attacks against what are supposedly sources of overwhelming Russian superiority such as the Russian Navy and the Russian Air Force.

As I have noted earlier, Ukraine has essentially defeated the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the remnants of which have withdrawn beyond range of Ukrainian missiles, arial and surface drones. As a result, Ukrainian wheat export is now back to pre-war levels.

More recent strikes have been carried out against the Russian oil industry and airbases. For instance, Russian Army aviation (attack helicopters) have been removed from the fight for some months because they can no longer be stationed close enough to the front line to be useful.

A couple of days ago, Ukraine carried out a massive drone attack against a major base for SU-34 fighter bombers that have been carrying out glide bomb attacks against frontline forces. The results were apparently pretty destructive. No specific claims have been made for the number of aircraft destroyed, but I would anticipate some analysis emerging soon. The before and after strike photos from commercial satellites are pretty compelling.

@Red Leg, do you have any insight about some of the equipment given to Ukraine being sold on the Black Market? I'm sure it's possible, but up to what lever, I do not know.

That has been something of a red herring since the start of the war. Battlefields are messy places, so I have no doubt any number of anti-tank missile systems and the like have found their way to the black market from both sides. There was also some black marketeering among Ukrainians (and Russians). The biggest problems were encountered in the first months of the conflict before more stringent oversight was instituted by both the US and Ukraine. This article dates to a year ago, but addresses the issue when concerns were much greater.

That’s creating a false narrative. People know these things. So you are saying those in the military are working for whom exactly? And they are paying for their own salaries, benefits, retirements and toys? So the annual US military budget of $820 billion is being funded mostly by the taxes paid by approx 2.08 million in the military?? :)

Good grief, you do realize it was a joke right?

Some scuttlebutt on various political platforms, rumors that Biden is going to make a push for mass amnesty.

Gotta get those votes.

Without the minority vote, Democrats probably would have no chance of winning a Presidency.

The very reason they let the riff-raff pour across the border unchecked.

Trump & Commie Joe, have both agreed to debate terms, favoring Biden of course.
Including Mic muting.

Biden is a world class P.O.S

I'm sure Biden will have a Doctor backstage to juice him up on whatever they have been giving him.
