It's not too soon to start planning and selecting dates for your 2017 African bow hunt. Although we can accommodate our bow hunting guests anytime during the hunting season, we prefer that our bow hunters plan to visit us in the months from May to September. The kudu and impala rut is in full swing in May, and the driest months of June through September will have the animals on their feet all day in search of water and salt.

The vast amount of hunting property combined with the fantastic numbers of game animals we can offer our guests provides for strong hunting throughout the entire season. However, our most dedicated bow hunters prefer to plan their hunts around the dark moons to seize every advantage. The dark moons for Southern Africa in 2017 will be as follows: May 25, June 24, July 23, August 21, and September 20. The dates up to and just after these dark moons always fill up first. Please contact us via PM, email, or give us a call to discuss the details of planning your dream bow hunt.

Here are just a few of the great bow hunting trophies that were taken by our guests this past season!

Nice animals. I'm a near 100% bow guy. Nothing against bullets, I have used lots of them :). I am just old enough to now savor the challenge over the kill and I can launch arrows in my backyard. It's my way of recharging my batteries away from the grind we all have making a living. Are your ranches bow only or also used for gun? I'm booked this year but always looking for a new adventure. Thx. Lee

    Hello Lee M,

We currently have approximately 350K acres of hunting properties that we either own, manage, or lease exclusively for our hunters. We accommodate both rifle and bow hunters equally. However, our bow hunting concessions are strictly managed as bow only and never rifle hunted. We have scores of permanent hides placed strategically with the predominant wind and sun directions in mind. We also utilize tree stands, pop-up blinds, and brush blinds as conditions dictate. Trail cameras are monitored throughout the season to stay on top of the most recent animal activity. We are all avid bow hunters ourselves, and we understand the components necessary for success. We spare no detail or effort in maximizing your bow hunting opportunities when hunting with us.

We also encourage spot & stalk hunting whenever conditions permit to allow our hunters to maximize every opportunity. Some African plainsgame animals are better suited to spot & stalk than others, and we have great success each season stalking trophies like Limpopo bushbuck, nyala, sable, impala, steenbok, duiker, and warthog just to name a few. We also have some of the most knowledgeable PHs in Africa that are well experienced in hunting dangerous game with archery equipment.

Please get in touch with us anytime for more details. We would welcome to opportunity to host you on a bow hunt.

I agree with @Josh Neal. While I will be rifle hunting in early July, I can attest to Dan being an outstanding US rep. It was great getting to meet both Dan and Hannes at SCI this year.

Thanks for the kind works guys. I'm the one who should be thanking all of you. Working with safari clients allows me to relive my own safari memories as well the chance to vicariously experience your safaris. It gives me reason to stay current with the object of my addiction which is Africa.

    +1!

    We're booked for June 2017.

Had the same experience with Dan @Limcroma Safaris .. He took the time to answer my endless list of questions over a series of conversations and made me extremely comfortable in booking our first Africa hunt with Limcroma..

Next year cant get here soon enough!

I have never bow hunted but I think I may take it. I am considering a cross bow. I'm told that a good cross bow is very accurate out yo 50 yards!

Crossbows are accurate and easy to learn. When I got mine 5 years ago my 10 year old hit a bullseye at 20 yards on his first shot. And he is not a shooter/hunter. It has a scope, so similar to a rifle as far as shooting. But you are still limited to shorter distances and I wouldn't recommend over 40-50 yards at game. I don't use mine much but felt the need to have one. :). The arrow (bolt) is fast but short and light. Get one and bring it over in July. It is a fun way to go after plains game.

Bow hunters: We still have a few great dates available around the dark moons for next season. Don't overlook May and September, as they are fantastic bow hunting months in the Limpopo Province. May starts us off with the kudu and impala ruts, and September remains dry and mild until the rains begin in October. The shoulder months usually offer some of the lower airfares of the season.

Our late season has remained as strong as we started off, and our bow hunters are still putting great trophies in the salt. Here are a few of the late season highlights:

We are booked Aug 20-30 2017. Had the opportunity to meet Hannes and a couple of his PHs at the DSC. Aart and the other name escapes me. Guill? Very nice visit. I am sure we made the right choice. Dan also helped answer my many questions and will likely get to answer a few more before our trip dates arrive. I will be taking a recurve and a compound bow.

I usually take my recurve and my compound and if it's a close shot I shoot the recurve, here at home I primarily shoot my recurve.
