Winchester Mod70 that started out as a WM, converted, and now happily shoots Lott ammo.
Added a super grade stock, quarter rib, adjustable recoil pad and a Leupold Delta Point Pro for good measure. Barrel has been trimmed to 21.5" and magna-ported.

In October of 2024 I adopted a lost 458 Win Mag. Poor thing looked pitiful so I had to rescue it. I took it home to keep the 450-400 company.
The 458 is on the left.

Just a run of the mill made in Portugal Winchester M70 458 win mag (rifle on the right)the other is a Montana 416 Rigby. The quality of manufacture and the furniture is excellent imho. I really enjoy this one

I have had many, many .458's over the years.. My current Ruger M77 Mark II carbine is pictured below (bottom rifle)... it wears a 20" #4 Bob Jury barrel, in a B&C stock, with a Leupold VX-3HD 1.5-5X20 IR mounted... very fast on target. I also have a Ruger RSM in .458 Lott.

P.S - Also have the Alaska Arms Coffin Mag Plate on to give me an extra round in the mag, and NECG sights. It weighs in at 9 1/2 pounds with five rounds of the 450 TSX loaded.

They work great, I have one on my .458 (4 down) and 7.62X57 (5 down)... it didn't work on my .375 WSM as the WSM case body is a smidgen too wide.

I'd love to hear more about the rationale for a single shot 458. I almost bought one recently, but am not using my current bolts as much as I should. Given the DG nature of the 458, why a single shot?

I am not speaking from experience but my opinion based on watching many DG hunting videos is no paying client needs to be in a hurry to get off a second shot. Some of the paying clients I've seen are not very good at cycling the bolt on that second round anyway. With practice, a paying client might/should be able to eject and load a single shot just as effectively and/or effectively enough for the real world time in which they might need to touch off another round. Reloading a single shot is not that difficult or slow if you practice and decide AHEAD OF TIME your order of operations. Again, not speaking from hunting experience, just manual of arms experience.
