Thanks! I’m booking another late season buffalo hunt in the Greater Kruger this year so I think it’ll be perfect for that.,

I have one in .404 Jeffery that is the nicest handling rifle that I own. It is perfectly balanced.
Enjoy your new purchase!
Thanks! Yes, the balance and handling are amazing, almost feels wand like compared to my other DG rifles.

Just read how much you paid for that! Heck of a deal. Congratulations!

Thanks! @gearguywb was really kind enough to share it with the AH brethren and I probably beat out some other AH members by a second or two. Just dumb luck.

Another good description with pics.

Lovely wood.....drool

Ralf Martini, who designed that rifle, has left his own business which he formerly carried on in British Columbia, and has moved to Hamburg, where he's now doing the same for Hartmann & Weiss.

While Ralf is German, he has a special affinity for English rifle design, and that was what he modelled the Heym by Martini on. A wonderful rifle - I hope you have many adventures with it!
one of my biggest regrets was never going to visit his shop, 12 hr drive here within BC. then learnt he had gone.

emailed a few times over the years but I wish i got fitted and ordered a heym from him but funds never allowed. This in a .404 jeff was a dream.

I believe his shop was in Cranbrook BC? Many years ago I spent the night in Cranbrook on my way to Kimberley for a mountain goat hunt. I would have loved to have visited his shop.

Correct. I've mountain goat hunted around there too but closer to fernie on a lottery draw. We're too far up. Needed major mountaineering gear to get to them but beautiful country.

Good morning,
Did you hunt w Leeuwkop at their ranch or in Zimbabwe? The ranch looks awesome, but I'll be in Zimbabwe for buffalo and whatever else we dig up.
What did you hunt for?
Vaccines?
What rifle did you use?
I feel like I need a good cotton safari shirt and an ammo belt to make the hunt feel right!
How often did you shoot prior to going?
Did you use sticks for shooting practice?

Tedd
