Ha! Lots of truths there. Hell, how many of us haven't done shit similar to that at one time or another?

The evolution of an experienced and seasoned Safari veteran includes those behaviors. After our first couple Safaris, we think we want to be booking agents. Heck, why not, we have all this enthusiasm and want to share it with everyone we know. I did.

After a couple more and perhaps after venturing into Mother Africa's dangerous game's killing field, we begin to understand just how much we don't know.

Somewhere after 12 or maybe a few more, we begin to have our shit relatively together. Our packing doesn't start 6 months prior, we know what to bring, we know what rifle, what loads, how many cartridges. We've been to so many third world airports that there are no longer nerves. We just stand about waiting for our bags, our guns and our rides. I went to Tanzania last year. I was at one week to go. My wife casually asked at dinner one night if I was going to get ready.

I packed in about an hour.

I think it was Boddington who said "I envy the first time Safari client, for I will never feel the excitement that he does."

Yes the excitement of that first African trip and the expectations and unknown is something that you dream about for months ! Having booked my 19th African hunt this year I lost a lot of that but I'm getting a little of that feeling back because this year is buffalo!

For budget purposes I will be hunting in the Limpopo, there are a lot of buffalo on the property and the herd is self sustaining and the bulls we will be hunting were born there. I'll be hunting with Sensational Safaris.
