I have a scope that the seller told me was a Weaver but I can find no identifying marks on it, although it does look a lot like the K series scopes of the early 50s. It is mounted on a M70 that was made about 1951 and the mount is of that time. we'll see if I can recall how to post a few pictures of it.

I am certainly not an expert but ..... it looks a lot like the early Weaver scopes, the markings may be on the bottom of the tube just forward of the eyepiece threads.

I finally got up the nerve to remove the mounts and scope from the rifle and found the trademarking under the rear ring. It is a Weaver K2.5 but is evidently an early production since it lacks the series info that I see of newer scopes and the writing was well forward of the location on the other scopes. so the mystery is solved.

That is a very old Weaver scope. What I noticed was the quick release mount. I have one and have been looking for another if it could ever be found. I have not seen another in my life. I'll send a pic and more soon.
