Not a chance in hell. At only 52 I have more arthritis than I’d like…which I attribute to at least some degree of shooting big bore handguns, with way too hot of loads, way too much. Just parted with my last few Linebaugh built guns as I’ve decided abusive recoil from big bore rifles is better at this station of life. lol.
I’ve had a couple 500 Linebaugh Long (aka 500 max if built by Bowen or Huntington) and that was my threshold. Hamilton Bowen quit agreeing to make guns in the chambering since he personally confirmed accuracy of every gun he built, and he had no desire to shoot the cartridge any longer.
This gun, just seems like a bad idea waiting to happen…in a hey hold my beer and watch this kind of way. That said, if I saw it reemerge in a YouTube title, I’d likely watch it. lol.
thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
hey bob , new on here. i specifically joined to enquire about a 444 you built on a Enfield 4-1 you built . who did the barrel and what was the twist and profile specs ? look foward to your reply . cheers
