NIB Ruger Safari .223

[Never Been]

This beauty has been waiting since 2013 to be put to use. It is unfired, NIB, and the only defect I can find is pictured below.

Whoever buys it needs to follow through with my plan of having it rebored to 350 Legend. Still dirt cheap to practice with, but much more effective on game and the straight wall makes you feel like you're using a big bore!

$2000 plus actual shipping. I might be willing to entertain trade/partial trade for a nice precision rifle scope.

Question, why wourd Ruger chamber a safari rifle in 223? Same shape/style gun for practice instead of shooting a 458 Lott all day?

Obviously, it's for a Tiny 10 Safari.

Seriously, I'd put a good 2-10x40 scope on it , load it with 62 grain Barnes X bullets and take it to Africa for smaller game like Steinbok and Duiker. You would have a hard time finding a more handsome rifle suited for the job.

If you have a Ruger big bore, this would be a great excuse to buy the perfect practice rifle for your big bore.

I had Larry amrine in ojai build me a mini african type rifle, on a mini mauser action..Iron sights..qd 4x scope....lovely little rifle...and Paul built me one on a a same mini mauser action for my son...actually Marc Newton phoned me when he worked for Paul...said how about a recession buster rifle...so deal was made....its a jeffery as Paul was building the jeffery rifles back then..ser no 40223...pretty neat ....fun little rifles..always good to be different........also just remembered. Paul saw my rifle and wanted to buy it..said noway...and next sci he had built one the same specs as mine but a rigby as was when he still owned rigby....so there is one rigby mini african rifle in 223 out there somewhere...

Fine on impala..bushbuck..Reedbuck as well with right bullet....son shot bushbuck with his..didn't go anywhere

Only a few serial digits older than mine. Glad to have the polished blue and not the matte.

I'm pretty confident it's a misprint. Unless Ruger's satin is not very satin or it's polish blue is out of this world!
