Yeah, lately things have been in a recession around here.

Any suggestions for a decent not budget busting scope for the .375 Ruger? I was thinking of 2 -3 x 8-12 range with 30 mm tube and 50 - 56 bell. Price maxed at $600. Thanks for all the information and advice so far.

I understand. Though I've yet to work for the oil industry and I'm doing OK, I know a lot of people not so OK. Jobs exist, but it's not easy pickings right now.

For a 375 I would go for a Leupold VX-R 2-7x with a 33mm objective and 30 mm tube. It's going for around $500. The low end will still allow close shots, the high is plenty for the longer distances and it'll still gather as much light as your own eye can see without being bulky.
