I have just finished putting together another promo video for Gus Bisset of NZ Trophy Hunting take a look! plenty of hunting and adventure to be had down here in New Zealand.
If you are coming down this way get in touch, I film and produce personal hunting videos for many hunters as well as promo videos like this outfitter one. Check out my website and get on to my Facebook page Mountain Edge ï½» Mountain Edge hope you enjoy!!

Hi Mark. Great scenery and a good video. You might use caution airing it tho. May people feel that using a helicopter to chase and then kill animals is not sportsmanlike. I understand that there has been quite a controversy in NZ over it. I would suggest removing that part. Bruce

Hi Bruce, the helicopter in this footage is culling the goats not trophy hunting. We have large numbers of feral animal populations which are controlled in this way. I would much rather see it done this way over our governments preferred method of poisoning with 1080 which is a slow and painful death for the animals. New Zealand has no predators apart from man.

Thanks Marius, you will have to come back for a hunt some day.

Cheers

Mark

any human being would have to agree with that 100%

I kinda find it funny that people cull the animals from helicopters, yet if I want to hunt a tahr or chamois, I'm out $3500 a piece to hunt them, if we have to use a helicopter to access the area.

I agree 100%, its the right way of doing it and only targeted animals are taken beats the heck out of poison. btw Geat promo video wish I was in it.

Culling is used to reduce population numbers, the helicopters don't get them all. Using the helicopter it can be done selectively leaving male animals to mature into trophies, the alternative is poison and everyone looses. You are paying for an outfitter/guides experience and knowledge to secure you a mature trophy animal in a dangerous environment. Im sure if you were looking for just a cull animal you can probably find someone to take you out for a couple hundred dollars but don't expect much tho.

yes it was pending estate world record at the time. The stag shot with muzzle loader is the biggest free range stag to be shot using a muzzle loader.

My apologizes. I thought that they were shooting chamois. Some good footage there. Bruce

No worries Bruce they are shooting feral goats in the footage. Goats and Tahr are controlled fairly heavily as they thrive in our environment. Chamois are very rarely culled, only sometimes in areas where hunters accessibility is very limited due to the terrain.
