New Requirement for Exporting Leopard and Cheetah Trophies from Namibia
Namibia requires that 14 days before the hunt commences a copy of the passport or identity document of the trophy hunter must be attached to the application for a predator trophy hunting permit.
Now it is also required for the Leopard and Cheetah that once the trophies are at the taxidermist or shipping agent ready for export that the hunter must provide copies of his passport pages showing the actual ID page as well as the page(s) showing the entry visa and departure stamps.
We came to be aware of this recently, as two of our clients, one for Cheetah and one for Leopard, are now at the moment to export their trophies and this paperwork was required prior to the shipping of the cats.
An interesting new twist that hunters should be aware of. I think that it could prevent a lot of funny business...
