Hello Everone,

I was turned onto this forum by a discussion in another forum. This looks like a great place to learn and get information for a hunt I want to do to celebrate an upcoming milestone birthday...I've got my heart set on bringing home a nice Kudu Euro-Mount.

As for me, I am an avid trap/sporting shooter and hunter from Southern Ontario.

:S Welcome:

Welcome!
How far South?

I'm in NW Ontario and also avid shotgunner at the range and in the field. And three kudu skulls on the wall now. I'll be heading back at the end of August to maybe shoot another. I think I'll drive to Toronto this time. Three skulls from 2023 are still sitting in a crate at the taxidermists in Port Elizabeth. I plan on bringing them back as checked baggage and through customs myself. Time permitting maybe we can connect while I'm down there?

Not a monster bull but the prettiest of the three.

That skull is exactly what I want to bring home...it's amazing.

It would be great to meet up and maybe even shoot a round or two together.

Love the pic of you & the grandson...he's always going to remember and hold that time with you dear, whether he knows it yet or not.

Thanks. I hope I can fit some time in. Well, if you want to shoot a couple of rounds, maybe I'll have to bring a sleeping bag :D

Parker is a natural. He shot sixteen his first round of skeet this past summer. And he'd never fired anything bigger than .22 before that. He's only twelve. He's shooting my Citori that I dolled up. I don't shoot it as well as the old Browning A5 Magnum Twelve. I use the same gun no matter what I'm shooting, birds or clays. Speaking of which, we have an excellent clays course if you ever make it up here.

The 404 Jeffery I built is quite an eye catcher. Parker went with me to the range to check zero on my rifles before heading to Montana. His eyes got pretty big when I took it out of the soft case, like they did when I opened the Citori's cherrywood case at skeet. "Would you like to try it, Parker?" "Maybe, Papa." Then I got out the box of shells. "It shoots those? What are you hunting, tanks?" Hah, hah. Then I started shooting. The lustre wore off fast!

I'm about 2 hours drive south west of you. I'm a member at the Oxford Sportsman's Club located between Woodstock & London.

I took a look at the Sharon Club, it's fantastic. If you have room for a couple visitors sometime it would be worth the trip for a range day out there.

Good morning,
Did you hunt w Leeuwkop at their ranch or in Zimbabwe? The ranch looks awesome, but I'll be in Zimbabwe for buffalo and whatever else we dig up.
What did you hunt for?
Vaccines?
What rifle did you use?
I feel like I need a good cotton safari shirt and an ammo belt to make the hunt feel right!
How often did you shoot prior to going?
Did you use sticks for shooting practice?
