Just wanted to share with you guys my new edition to the cabinet. It's a new to me winchester m70 super grade in 375h&h. Absolutely delighted with it, I've never owned a rifle that fits as good as this winchester, it comes up perfectly.

Good looking rifle!

WOW!! I like it. How about some specifics?

Now that is downright elegant. And the King of Rifles to boot.

Congrats!

Nice looker, nice caliber. Are you going to scope it or just go Fe?

Out of curiosity, where'd you come across this beauty? I think the same rifle was sold on here several years back (saw it in the similar threads listed below). Very neat to be able to trace some history on the rifle.

Really nice M70.

One of these models sold recently, here in Aus, for $5990 (A.U.D).

Very nice rifle.
And it's a limited edition, #1 of 200!

The very best of the American ( non custom ) sporting rifles . Is this a pre 64 variant ?
Although Cabela's was established in 1961, I don't believe they were partnered up with Winchester for a rifle at that time. That being said this rifle does look to be CRF and Winchester resumed CRF production in 1992.

Although Cabela's was established in 1961, I don't believe they were partnered up with Winchester for a rifle at that time. That being said this rifle does look to be CRF, so at least produced after 1992. They moved production around and closed production at the New Haven, Connecticut plant in 2006. South Carolina produced the M70 from 2007 to 2013, at which time it was moved to Portugal. And that is where they are made today.

Without knowing the specific year of production or serial number, it would be hard to determine.
@BeeMaa
Thank you very much . Yes , the pictured rifle does appear to be a control round feed action . Although it escaped my mind , that it could also be a 1990s era Winchester Model 70 .

I know they did a Cabela's 50th anniversary edition in 2011, but they are stamped on the bottom metal with "1961-2011". I believe I found the GI auction where this rifle was bought, it says the year of production is 2010, and it's clearly marked "1 of 200".

Thank you for all the comments. I would appreciate any info anyone can get as all I know so far is that a gun collector flew it over her to the UK at some point and it was reproofed for the UK. The serial number is 35CZY00920. I have emailed cabelas and winchester, I will share any info I get.

Pretty sure this is the same rifle

Can’t wait to hear how it shoots! You need to get it to Africa for sure!

Congrats on the nice looking new addition!

Congrats - that's a beauty!
