DO NOT BUY from Optics Planet! Been over 11 days and still have not received the scope I ordered! Took them 4 days to confirm my order and ship, the tracking info they sent me says it was supposed to be delivered yesterday. Still nothing today so I called them and they informed me that they won't even consider contacting the shipper because they have until the 17th to deliver the item! The last place the package was scanned was only one hundred miles away and shouldn't take multiple days to deliver! Optics Planet and Speedee delivery both get a big thumbs down from me!

This time of year, 4 days to process your order and ship is not out of the norm. Once they hand it off the the carrier, it is no longer in their hands so I believe your issue is with the carrier and not Optics Planet. Sounds like you have a tracking number, have you called the carrier yourself? Again, that is not Optics Planet's responsibility to track your order if it is within the delivery window.
I have never ordered from Optics Planet and know little about them but based your your post, I think you are being unreasonable towards them.
I say this as I spent my entire career in the trucking industry.

Hate to hear that..

Ive only bought a few things from Optics Planet over the years.. I tend to watch EuroOptic for sales, or buy direct from the manufacturers using guidefitter or a VIP program, etc.. but the few times I have bought from them the have shipped quickly, packaged well, etc...

Im guessing the Christmas sales are backlogging their shipping department? I know USPS is particularly bad right now.. I ordered a clamp head for one of my tripods on November 24th. The vendor shipped it the next morning. It arrived at the USPS facility in Coppell, TX on Nov 29th (which was slow.. it was being shipped from central texas to north texas.. but.. ok...).... Its now Dec 9th.. I just got an email from USPS saying that the package will be delivered this afternoon.. It just sat in Coppell for more than a week before they could move it across Dallas to another suburb less than 15 miles away..

USPS always sucks.. but they especially suck right now..

Had another really crappy experience with UPS on Saturday...

I had a double rifle shipped UPS.. it was supposed to be delivered (signature required) on Friday..

I got an email from UPS on Thursday saying that they were delayed and going to now deliver on Saturday... Saturday was a bad day for me.. I was planning on leaving the house about 6AM and knew I wouldnt be back home before 7PM... so I went to the UPS website to reschedule..

UPS apparently CHARGES YOU to reschedule deliveries now.. they wanted $8.00 to hold the package at their facility for me to pick up.. or $12.50 to schedule delivery on another date.. even though THEY are who screwed me with a last minute reschedule in the first place...

So I pay $12.50 and reschedule for Monday...

About 3PM on Saturday I get both a text and an email from UPS saying the package was delivered..

So now Im an hour away, busy at an event, with a double rifle sitting by my front door (that no one signed for), during the peak Porch Pirate season...

I call UPS.. they put me on hold for about 15 minutes.. so I make the decision I just have to break away from the event and go home... I race home and pick up the package (thankfully its there and unharmed)... and then call UPS again to ask WTF???? They charged me for a monday delivery.. AND they left an extremely valuable item on the doorstep (insurance on it for $15K.. so they knew it wasnt something insignificant) with no signature..

They basically told me to fuck off.. nothing they could do for me... I should just be happy I got my package.. .

Where Im going with this... they ALL suck rocks... and this time of year they suck worst of all unfortunately...

Poor customer service is what angered me, saying they wouldn't even check on the status of the shipping until Dec 17th is unacceptable no matter how busy they are!

Speedee delivery isn't much better, thier tracking info says the package has been out for delivery since yesterday at 8:35 am! All they says it's on the truck but they have no idea where their truck is!

Optics Planet if I'm not mistaken, is a Drop-Ship business. They take an order, then send it forward to the respective regional shipper. You'll get your scope, just won't be fast.

Really? :ROFLMAO:

Take a deep breath,
It’s not a dominos pizza…

You will have your scope soon enough
Ya, I know it's not Dominos. But when ordering thousands of dollars worth of optics I do expect a little better service!

I'll use EuroOptics from now on, they a least care about thier customers!

358 Norma, on your first point, I guess we will have to agree to disagree on the poor customer service. You know how many tails they chase, especially this time of year, on issues they are not in control of? You have the tracking number, call the carrier as that is who I would be taking issue with. I can tell you on the carrier side, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I hope your shipment shows up very soon.

I've ordered a few things from Oprics Planet and never had a problem.

However at this time of year with all the sales going on with the vast majority of the items being delivered I'll try to avoid all of it.

It was the attitude they gave me that made me angry. They pretty much said they don't care and to call if it doesn't show up by the 17th!

I did contact the shipping company and they are not much better, they say it's on the truck. But they have no idea where the truck is or if it will be delivered today! I guess being out for delivery and on the truck for three days is acceptable to them.

Just purchased a scope from one of our members. Priority mail and it still vanished into the New Jersey Distribution Center for four days before finally moving along. Estimated time of delivery was last Thursday and arrived today. It is that wonderful time of year. The scope was fine.

I've never had a problem. Shipping this time of year is always an issue.

That being said I'd rather buy from Euro Optic.

I've had some bad experiences with Opticsplanet as well. They'll sell you scopes they don't have in stock, then take six months to deliver them

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
