I just got my hands on this brand new Ruger No1 7x57! Made in 2008, but unfired in the box. Added a Leupold 2-7×33 scope in stainless rings. Looks great! Now we'll see how she shoots.
The rings are from a stainless Ruger 77/44 I have. They kind of look good on the No1 and kind of blend with the stainless falling block this rifle has.Beautiful rifle. I like the scope choice too. The rings.......?????? Did I mention it is a beautiful rifle?
I'd be interested in hearing what ammo you feed it. I just bought a Win M70 Super Grade in 7x57 and will be testing a bunch of different types and weights of factory ammo to see what it likes.
The good thing about Leupold is the long eye relief. I could've came back even more with it than I did, but it's perfectly clear where it is now. But, I can see where a scope with little eye relief could be a problem in these rifles.Nice looking rifle Toby. I had a RSI but, couldn't get the scope back enough without extension rings, so sold it. I think your A will probably balance better than the RSI too.
