Have had this eucalyptus crown top under cover and off the ground since I got it in march but the log it came from had been down for over a year before that. Today was the day to get it broken down into handlable pieces. The central join between tyhe three limbs was what I really wanted but the forks outside of that should have some interesting pieces in them as well.

First of the batch of handles in the handle rack and ready for the finish but will get the rest up to this stage before starting that process.

We (wife & I) just finished our first dinner using the new steak knives. the dinner was inch and 3/4 USDA choice New Yorks.. My wife's first comment after sliding the knife through the first slice was "WOW". Now realize this is someone accustomed to quality steak knives- Wusthof and Henckels that I keep quite sharp. the von Gruff knife literally slid its way through the meat. We are very pleased. I'll be sending Garry a PM regarding another of his creations but I don't want to advertise which one.

@Von Gruff
Gary it would be nice to see your version of the bird and trout. The original is a great design.
Bob
The new Bird and Trout with tasmanian blackwood over bronze on the NitroV SS blade . Lovely slim little knife with its 4 inch blade should be just the thing for those smaller tasks

hell garry,
i know a guy that did not want wood at all!
but then he is known to be a bit odd.
bruce.
Who are you calling odd? That Maroon handle I had to have was for my wife. I've met a few Odd Bod's around the traps, you could be referring to someone else, some of the synthetics are fit for purpose. Horses for courses. Some bloke mentioned a Kephart knife and I googled one showing Maroon handles that started something. The other knife I handled with a Micarta handle was made by Kiwi fella for some Crow eater, nice knife
A left handed "D" handle on the chinese vegetable knife with black lacewood over brass on the L6 HC blade and a Serbian chef knife with stabilised willow on the 1084 blade.
I learned a lesson with the serb knife in that a wide blade like this is a real chalenge to snad after hardening so in future I will do a pre HT hand sand and do an antio scale coating to make things less difficult and time consuming

Garry, I really like the Chinese chopping knife style but for what it's worth I think right handed ones will sell better.

I do like the cross draw sheath, I considered it.
And I can assure everyone that Garry put a lot of work into the development of the 4x4 Hunter.

the left handed one was a commission so left handed was what he got. I dont do very much in the way of spec knives at all so what I make is generally what is ordered.

Yeah, I realise that. It was my attempt at humour .
It's a good design and looks the part, I'm right handed so that's my version of normal.

chris,
a hint on who the odd bod is.
he is a good handsome intelligent crow eater with a beard that drinks his coffee black.
further identification.
he does not have a manbun or live the hipster lifestyle.

The strange thing is that a left handed version is very comfortable for a right hander. The top of the D section is like a ledge for the side of the thumb and still indexes the knife in the hand very well so in effect, either right or left handed is equally usable for either hand.

Yes, I am interested in some A Frames to load, if they are the 300 grain or other that will work for Cape Buff. I need enough to work up a load and sight in, then carry over there

Greetings Mr. Rutledge. My apologies for the latent reply, cell/email prohibited during working hours, apx 72 a week, yikes! I just wanted to thank you for keeping me in mind for possible 577 loads. I actually purchased a few rounds, however, the firearm is still on the fence at this point.
Many Thanks, again. Regards, Dan.
