Yance, it is nice to see our works in progress. It shouldn't be too long now. I like your hybrid blade design. It too like many of Von Gruff's undertaking could become a standard offering. I for one enjoy seeing Garry take on these new challenges and watching them come to fruition.

Like rifles, I have more knives than I would ever need, but I can't up a nice custom. I am not really a fan of the thick blades with a scandi grind, so @Von Gruff showed me a few designs and then ultimately combined some features together to get to that blade. I am very much looking forward to getting it. I promised him it would be used and not just sit in a safe for the next few decades.

I have a pack-in elk hunt coming up in a few weeks, if it is here by then, I hope to get it bloody this fall.

Handle shaping on for today with sheath work tomorrow so with a couple of days for the handle finish coats, I should get these on the courier this week.

The last bars I orderd arrived today so I have another 3 of the raindrop pattern and 4 of the random pattern which is also very nice when finished. I have another few knives on the bench waiting for the handle to be shaped up so should be able to show them later this week. In the meantime I got some sheaths made today for those knives already finished and the others that are on the bench.
Have the sheaths for the damascus knives stitched (4 for our members and 2 as samples of the random pattern) so just the rest to run the stitching on and get the how waxing done. Then it will be sharpening and shipping.

Morning Garry, today is my 76th birthday, and the first time I saw my completed damascus blade knife with the buff horn over the blue liner handle. It is just as eye-catching as I thought it would be. Thanks I couldn't be happier with the outcome! :)

I thought so!! Garry's knives are like Lays Potato Chips in a way, you just CAN'T have one.

Thank you both for the custom and the appreciation. That is what keeps me enthused and feeds the addiction.
The first shiment of (4) giraffe shin bones has been cleared through customs after cites concerns etc, so I should be able to offer this handle material soon, although I have 10 blades that have been sitting waiting for its arrival for quite a while. All thanks to my US agent Tony (Stoat)
