Our 12,000-acre farm is situated at the foot of the Jozini dam and shares an unfenced boundary with the expansive Pongola Nature Reserve (76,000 acres) in the beautiful region of Zululand. This unique arrangement allows us to have a hunting quota on the reserve, where we frequently conduct our hunts.

With its vast expanse of land, rich in natural beauty, it serves as a thriving habitat for various wildlife species. We take great pride in being recognized as the home of the Nyala.

MPETI SAFARIS is not limited to just our lodge and the Pongola Nature Reserve as we have access to over 100,000 acres of prime hunting areas within a 15-minute to an hour drive of our main lodge.
We also have access to numerous concessions in other provinces allowing us to provide endless opportunities for your hunting safari.

Mpetis Main Lodge consists of 6 luxurious Deluxe Suites and 1 Executive Suite, with a private plunge pool. All suites have individual patios and are naturally enclosed by the beautiful Zululand Bushveld. The suites have been positioned to optimize the views and magnify the naturally striking, yet serene environment. Mpetis Main Lodge is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the elegance nature has to offer. All suites are stylishly fitted and come equipped with king-sized beds, air-conditioning, a walk-in shower, a safe, and a raised oval bath where you can soak and take in the breathtaking Natal landscape.

Non-Hunting Activities

Big Game Saltwater Fishing
Spend the day pursuing big game saltwater fish with nationally recognized Renier Van Jaarsveld of Nanas Sportfishing near Sodwana Bay (approximately 90 minutes). Species targeted include blue, black, and Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, Dorado, Wahoo, and King Mackerel.

African Tigerfish Fishing On Jozini Dam
Spend a half or full day pursuing this toothy predator on Jozini Dam. Jozini Dam has become a top fishing destination for African tigerfish and you can rest assured your guide will have the best tackle and know how to catch these fish.

Big 5 Game Drive And Photography
In addition to game drives on Mpeti and the Pongola Game Reserve, other private reserves provide opportunities to view and photograph various species of birds, mammals, and reptiles. Several of these locations have all of the big 5 Let us know what you are specifically interested in seeing and we will suggest the sites that we believe will best meet your needs. Approximately 30-90 minutes from Mpeti Lodge depending on chosen location.

Elephant Interaction At Bayete Zulu
Knowledgeable rangers provide you with interesting facts about elephants and you will be allowed to feed and touch the elephants. This is a great adventure for families with children and can be paired with the crocodile and reptile interaction at Zulu Croc Reptile Park. Approximately 45 minutes from Mpeti Lodge.

Here you will see different snakes, crocodiles, and other reptile species. Knowledgeable guides will be
present to share information about these species and answer your questions. This is a great adventure for families with children and can be paired with the elephant interaction at Elephant Connections. Approximately 45 minutes from Mpeti Lodge.

Spa Treatment
We can arrange a spa treatment at the nearby White Elephant Lodge or Jozini Tiger Lodge. A boat cruise on Jozini Dam can be added at both locations to increase the time you spend relaxing. Locations range from approximately 20-40 minutes from Mpeti Lodge.

Souvenir Shopping
Souvenir and curio shopping near the town of Mkuze, including a stop at the Pure Zulu Community Shop. Several shops can be visited to find just what you are looking for. Approximately 30 minutes from Mpeti Lodge.
