MOZAMBIQUE: Little Rock To Tete

Great skill and incredible success. Congratulations. Spot and Stalk with a bow is the gold standard.

It is an incredible statement about the quality of the concessions to be afforded the opportunities to get that quality of trophies with a bow. Not being over hunted and well managed helps immensely.

Day 10

We got an early start, and it didn’t take long to spot our first Red Duiker of the day. We managed to slip within 36 yards of the male in the group. I placed an arrow on my nock and took careful aim. My shot hit its mark, and he expired in short order. We took some great photos of the Red Duiker in the same creek bed from the day before with my suni.

After lunch, we made the decision to head back to Cantatan 9, hoping to return in time for an evening hunt. We made it back safely with a few hours of daylight left before sunset. During our drive, we encountered a herd of buffalo, and I was able to capture a quick video of them.

When we arrived back we decided to set up some bait in hopes of attracting a bushpig during legal shooting hours. We spent the rest of the day stalking plains game. This country is incredibly beautiful and massive; I completely understand the love affair that legendary PH Adelino Serras Pires had with Mozambique back in the 1940s.

On our drive back to camp, we encountered our first herd of elephants. I cannot wait to chase a big bull elephant with my bow! As luck would have it, that dream is about to come true—I am heading back to Zambia this October to chase my ultimate dream animal.

Tonight’s dinner was both amazing and entertaining, as we got to cook our own meat on a small, individual tabletop griddle.

I’ve been trying to load pictures but it uploads to 100 % but never finishes and says ops something went wrong ???

Waidmannsheil! Truly magnificent and a great show of your skills as a hunter.

You took some excellent trophies with your bow. This will be the hunt that you measure all others against. I too would of had trouble passing on that Nyala. He looks close to 30 inches.
