Counting down, my first trip will be early January. Taking the wife but she has worked hard too.
This is. Once in a lifetime trip, my Cull Hunt will be my first time overseas.
Maybe if I get lucky and try hard I will go back for that Buffalo

Yes, Toby, same here. I changed or because of age or something, learned that what I miss most about Africa are the small things. Not the kills themselves but small, seemingly insignificant things like the smells as one post mentioned or the sounds or the people. Nothing like seeing glimpses, through the bush of the first flickers of small fires as you approach camp in the dark, a sight and feeling described so well by Hemingway and others. I learned to really enjoy taking time to visit with camp staff and locals. Or taking the time to just sit quietly and watch and listen to and smell the bush. Just after first light or just after sunset are special times. Listening to hornbills or lions or hyenas or sawing leopards or some who-knows-what, any or all... very special! No matter how hard I've tried though I just haven't been able to slow down time while there... a huge regret. So the best I've been able to do is to let time slow down by spending some time not hurrying, afraid to miss something. I think of course about the campfire - possibly some of the most pleasant times of all. :)

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
Ross
