Ocellated Turkeys in southern Mexico.

Absolutely stunning Turkeys, but I guess the rate is 5-7k for a week of hunting. I think I'd take 2x Pronghorn hunts for that amount.

Beautiful birds for sure and gotta have one for that NA turkey slam

Balam Outfitters offers Ocellated Turkey hunts for $3600. Yeah, the price is high for a single turkey, but it is a one of a kind looking bird. Bird hunters regularly pay this much to shoot high pheasants and game birds for one day.

Happy hunting to all, TheGrayRider a.k.a Tom.

If I am ever fortunate enough to hunt one, I would do a full mount for sure

Beautiful trophy! I have been seriously looking at one of these hunts and plan to talk to the exhibitors who offer these hunts at DSC.

Beautiful birds

Osceolas are getting to be a similar price. For many of us the number of Osceolas we’ve shot dictates how many slams we have.

I’d suggest anyone considering chasing a slam jump on an Osceola now because they’re just going to keep climbing in price.

The best outfitters will know you need the proper camouflage to be successful. Look at TheGrayRider's live mount. It is obvious that you need to wear one of these masks while hunting:

Make sure to post pictures of your hunt.

The Nacho Libre Turkey hunt!

Make sure to ask about other opportunities in the area you will be hunting, there are gamebirds beyond turkeys that are very interesting trophies-also brocket deer in some areas.

These birds are interesting, but a mixed bag would make a more exciting time if it. So far I've seen Crested Guan, Curassow, Brocket Deer, Collared Peccary, Agouti, Paca, Coati, Chachalaca, and Tinamou listed as huntable in the same area. Were you able to hunt any of these other species while hunting the turkeys?

Exactly. Turkeys are fun, but almost every area that has turkeys has other game as well. ;)

Just looking at pictures, these turkeys don't appear to have a beard, but have huge spurs. Am I right?

Hi. I tagged out the first afternoon of hunting. I then stayed around the lodge for the next 5 days while exercising in the weight room in the morning, swimming in the pool around lunch, walking through the local village in the afternoon, and then drinking ethanol products starting in the early afternoon. Relaxing…

Some of the other hunters had a second turkey tag and also hunted brocket deer and peccaries. Fun hunt in the Mexican jungle. Give her a try…Happy hunting to all, TheGrayRider a.k.a Tom.

My understanding is that getting your trophy back is the hardest part of the entire hunt.

I don't know a ton of people who have been though.

The real prize in the Yucatán are the brocket deer and particularly the red variation. It’s on my short list.

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
