I would like to know how many bow hunters would be interested in trying the McNab challenge with a bow?

For those that do not know what it is:
You have to hunt a plains game animal, shoot a game bird and catch a fish like Trout or Bass between sunrise and sunset of the same day.

Now I want to offer it all with a bow.

That can be tough enough with a rifle and shotgun.

It is an interesting prospect.

It has been in my mind for a while now and this year I did it 3 times in 4 days. It is a magical hunt especially if you stalk the plains game animal with a bow. I did the stalk one today and it is one of my best hunting experiences yet.

If more people are into this I just might put packages together for them.

Sounds like fun....would the fishing be bowfishing? Might be a stupid question but that would be great!

Has to be with a flyrod come on! It is a string thing! I f***ing love it!!!!!!!
1)plains game with a bow
1)bird with a bow
1)trout on a fly
in one day in April or my name is not Ditch Bugger!

My idea is to offer it both ways. We have plenty wild Trout here on the farm along with Bass, Carp, Bream and Catfish.
For those that enjoy casting into an early morning rise, there are lots of ponds fed by a stream.
For those that want to do the whole McNab with a bow, there are good size Carp in two dams on the farm.
I do not think that bow fishing for a trophy trout is the way to go. That is why the Carp and Catfish are here.
In the bird department, there are plenty of Spurwing Geese, Egyptian Geese, Yellow bill Duck, Knob nose Duck and many other Sporting birds to go after.
We also have all the trout gear and fishing rigs on site as well as bow fishing equipment.

This can be an interesting hunt!!
Not something you are guaranteed to complete but it sure will put your hunting skills tot he test.
Great idea Fritz, good luck hope there's some guys that are up for the challenge!!

Bet of luck

Thanx a lot.
If some guys do come and do it, it will be a BIG thing. Apart from the certificate and the status that they will get I also want to make a DVD on people that accomplished the Bow-McNab.

I heard something about the fly being made with feathers from the game bird? Is that a thing too?

Yes sir it can be done.
Depending on what bird you shoot we can tie a fly or two for you to use after the challenge. It would waste valuable time to hunt a bird and then tie the fly and then try and out smart a Trout.
The same goes for the animal that you hunt. The hair on some of them makes excelent dry flies.

If you can manage to do all that and have sex too it's called the McBoink Challenge!:ignore:

Send him an email.

It's actually quite a fun challenge. Certainly with a bow.
I know I had fun doing my first crack at it.

I like it! It seems reasonable!

Phillip I was reviewing some of the auctions online and saw your Nubian Ibex hunt coming up this weekend. It also showed you have Addax and Axis deer. Is there a website I can go to and see the lodge, cost of animals and what is available? Thanks Mark

I really like that knife you're selling. It looks so similar to my original 1306 that has been around a long time. I can't spend that much but if you get to a point where you'd entertain offers let me know. Thx, James
