It's been a while since I hunted with Martin Pieters, 2013 I think, my PH was Lyn Stanton. This was my first trip to Africa, and I still remember most of it clearly. I went in the hot season and what an exciting adventure it was. I was after Cape Buff and tuskless Cow Elephant.
Fair Chase would almost be an understatement. We covered a lot of ground on foot after both. On the second last day from memory I got my elephant, not big but still a tuskless cow. about 15mts from above. On the shot the elephant dropped but the herd started to run up the hill towards us. Lyn and the trackers were jumping up and down, yelling and waving their arms, I nervously kept my rifle pointed at the downed Elephant. Big sigh of relief from me when the herd changed direction.
I did not care how big in the horns or body the Buff was he just had to be old. They don't get old by being stupid. We had stalked in close to several bulls over the days but none were old. Last 10mins of hunting light on the last day I shot my Buff. He ran about 50 mts and fell over dead. My avatar is me, one dead buff and the CZ550 in 416 Rigby.
The accommodation was great and the tucker was good and plentiful
I would not hesitate to recommend Martin Pieters safaris.
