Hello,
I have done my search of this forum and have reviewed all threads regarding ibex and am beginning to whittle my way down to an outfitter to book a hunt with. I believe we are primarily interested in Spain and open to any of the ibex species.

Looking for:
outfitter/guide recommendations
best time frame
suggestions on local tours to the area recommended
and any other input

Thanks much,
Randy

Look at the hunt reports from @Red Leg. He's done a couple Ibex hunts in Spain and wrote up excellent reports. This is on my bucket list!

We have enjoyed two fabulous hunting vacations with Great Spanish Hunts. http://www.greatspanishunts.com/en/ I can not recommend Ignacio-Navascues more highly. He and his lovely sister have become great friends and we are looking forward to seeing them soon at DSC.

Spain is a wonderful place for a vacation. Madrid is wonderful and days spent in the smaller cities like Toledo are simply incredible. We still have the South of Spain to explore, so we will likely return for another ibex. Fell free to PM me with any questions.

I really enjoyed your hunt video Red Leg. We sent an email to the outfit earlier this morning and I am looking forward to his response.
Do you have a recommendation as to the time of year to go?

Thanks,
Randy

We like Europe in September/October. The weather is usually cooperative. Though you still have to deal with Chinese tourists, all the college kids are back in school and the summer tourists have returned home.

Should you attend DSC or SCI, Ignacio has a booth in an easy to find location.

Randy, contact my friend Jose Maria Aranda, he is a specialist in Ibex hunts and can offer you any of the four subspecies we have in Spain. He will be attending DSC.

It may depend if you are wanting representative or gold medal ibex. I have booked for 2021 with The Hunting Consortium because I wanted to have a top booking agent help me decide and also to put touring days together as well. As you’ve found there are many good outfitters there and many of them hunt the same places.
Best of luck and keep us in the loop.
Philip

I put a write up on here too about my trip to Spain with Corju

Sorry for the delayed response but I now work in the woods, far from internet and cell service. It's not a bad problem to have!

Phillip, I'm looking more for experience and will be quite happy for bronze. The wifester will be going along and outside activities are just as important.

Nyati and UKHunter I will certainly look into those outfits as well.

Thanks much all for the input. It will take me through the winter to pull all the necessary info together and make a decision.

Talk to Jordi Figarolas of Pyrenean outfitters.

Thank you sir, will do
