I am looking at the possibility of cashing in my Iowa points in 2025 for a gun hunt. Wanted to see if anybody could recommend a good outfitter in Iowa, preferably one that you’ve hunted with and have experience with. Thanks.

Nathan Askew of @Bullet Safaris also hunts deer in Iowa. I’ve never deer hunted with him, but he has a very good reputation. He’s also a member here.
I know you are looking for firsthand experience, but just wanted to mention him if you haven’t looked at him before.

Following for 26 archery

I’m doing my first Iowa deer hunt in a few weeks. Late season muzzleloader Jan [emoji6]-[emoji[emoji6][emoji6]], it is an outfitted hunt that I got at an SCI banquet. Will write up a report and comment about the outfitter if they are a good option for others

5-6 years ago, I bowhunted with Brent at 4T Outfitting and will be going back in '25 with my son. You won't find much about him online as he does not advertise and stopped attending shows years ago. He strictly operates by word of mouth.

It is a small operation with meager accommodations however, he has large tracks of some of the best whitetail habitat I've seen. It is well managed with low hunting pressure in the best region of the state. A quality hunt.

With that said, I doubt he would have any gun openings for '25 but, it wouldn't hurt to check. I have not gun hunted with him but, I'd imagine it would be equally rewarding.

On a separate note, if I was not bowhunting, I would probably choose muzzleloader season over gun season. You really need that cold January weather to get those big bucks up and moving every 4 hours to see them. The December gun hunts can be frustrating if it's not cold enough and the big ones are strictly nocturnal. If you're really wanting the gun season, choose 2nd season as it's a little longer and a little colder than first season.

Send me a PM if you need more information.

Hello Sir,
I have been operating in Iowa zone 5 and Missouri for almost 20 years. We have a long track record of great hunts.
We just finished Gun 1 last week (pics below - these are not on our company website yet www.iowatrophyhunts.net or IG @iowatrophyhunts ) .
Please review site and follow us!
8 hunters shot at a deer they wanted (we operate on a 160 type frame or dont shoot!). I had 12 hunters in camp. Most our hunters are veterans of multiple deer hunts with me and several have B&C bucks under their belt.
Prices are on my website. Please check there.
I am readily accessible on the phone or WhatsApp 5735871234. I travel a lot and prefer to talk then confirm all via email before booking.
Thanks,
Nathan Askew
p.s. we are pretty good at Africa as well!

I tried to put 2x pics of the nicer ones we took in 2024 Gun 1.
More pictures are on my website. Some are MO bucks most are IA. You can get a good feel for my outfit. It's small low pressure highly successful on fun times and Big Deer.
Thanks and feel free to reach me this weekend via phone. 5735871234

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
