I’m spending the week in Americus Georgia and am looking to take my son to some gun shops in the area. Where I live, most are very corporate and bland or private and bland.

Meaning they only carry, tactical items, mainstream production guns or low quality hardware store guns that simply no one wants.

I would love to hear suggestions.

Thanks, John

Americus is rural and not likely to have shops that are much different than what you know at home. If you have time, drive over to Kevin's in Thomasville. The little town has a lot private quail plantations, and the Main Street will give you a sense of life in an old Southern town. Take your son for BBQ. Chuck's in Buckhead is a good spot, too, for nice shotguns and rifles and Randall knives. Clyde's Armory in Athens is good f you want to the tactical experience, including full auto, grenade launchers, and so forth. Daniel Defense's HQ is near Savannah, which is the oldest city in the state. Have fun.

Kevin’s is a really cool shop and well worth the visit. I’d also add Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna for sheer size or Gable Sporting Goods in Douglasville as potential shops if you’re up around the Atlanta area. Several years ago, I met Travis Tritt in Gable SG.

It’s a bit of a drive from Americus, but Barrow Automotive in Bulter, Ga is worth a visit.

It’s a Napa auto parts store, but also one of the biggest gun stores in the state. Their prices are great.

I lied it’s only about 40 min away. I always think Americus is further south than it is.

You have to check it out.

You’re not lying, this store is very deceiving but if I remember correctly they’re one of the largest Beretta/Benelli dealers in the country

Thanks for the information guys. I tried to go to some of the shops in the Atlanta area on the way down, but they were closed on Sunday.

I’m planning to get to the Butler location on Wednesday, looking forward to it.

We did our best to find some shops in the Columbus and Phenix areas today.

If you are looking for Africa Big Bores I know of no place in GA given I am a native born and raised other than Chucks in Buchead

This place!! I live in Warner Robins (40 min from Americus) and our Air Force base has a beautiful air museum, I’m sure your son will enjoy. Oh, and it’s free.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
