Looking at my first Africa hunt...

Hello Paul
Welcome to the site.
You will find some very valuable information here.

Have a look at our new website.
We have recently upgraded our lodge also and added 2 more ranches to our game reserve.
In addition we own 4 cattle ranches where we have a lot of free roaming kudu, gemsbuck, springbuck, blesbuck, warthogs, etc.
The Kalahari desert extends from South Africa into Botswana and Namibia so we offer roughly the same spesies as these other countries plus 3 of te Big 5 (buffalo, lion and leopard)

If interested just send us an e-mail.

Sincerely
Hans de Klerk

I am considering a hunt in Africa. I am a long time hunter mostly in Wisconsin, USA but a few other states as well. Probably I will be doing mostly plains game. Right now I have had Namibia recommended to me but wondering about other places pros and cons. Thanks for welcoming me!
Namibia is an excellent choice for first-time hunters thanks to its political stability, ethical free-range hunting, wide variety of plains game, and professional standards.
The Kalahari offers a classic African experience with vast open spaces, beautiful red dunes, and challenging, fair-chase hunting. At Kalahari Safari, we focus on personalized hunts, experienced PHs, and making sure first-time hunters feel comfortable, well-guided, and truly immersed in Africa from the moment they arrive.
I’d love to help you plan a hunt that fits your expectations and goals.- Janneman

Welcome fellow Wisconsinite! Planning a trip to Africa is a bit overwhelming at first. Lots of options and lots to learn. As others have said, you are at the right place. I am only a one timer, but there are many multi-trip veterans and outfitters on this site willing to help.
My only starting suggestions would be to know what type of terrain (hunt style) you would prefer or are able to do. Next have a couple "definite hunt" animals. Put any others in a "maybe" category. By doing this your hunt will be more open to what the bush provides instead of just being a "checklist".
Most of all, enjoy the research!
-Jeff

Be careful of hunting Chewore South, the area has been decimated.....

Curious about this. I hunted Chewore South with D&Y in September and they did tell me it was there last hunt there.

Which outfits shot it out?
