Yep. And if you came back with a wimpy switch, he was gonna go cut the next one. So you came back with the minimum switch that was acceptable, at least that was the thought. The mental punishment was as bad as the whippin’.

I knew a kid that brought in a skimpy one, was sent back out to get a good one, and came back with a 2x4--parents laughed, so he got out of that whippin'
