Hello,

I don't understand why no one of the USA bullet makers are offering a lighter 9,3 bullet...I think there would be a very good market demand for a monometal 220 to 230 grs TTSX, GMX and so. Also an Accubond, Interlock/Interbond, Power Point would be great, making the 9,3x62/64/74 still better all around cartridges.
In Europe, there are a lot of very good bullets of those weights!!
No matter this covid 19 thing, hope they would offer some...

Best

clodo,
at one time usa shooters did not understand the 7mm, and are only now coming to grips with the 6.5
with the advent of the 7mm rem mag, 7mm is very well understood stateside.
9.3mm has yet to see this.
only thing is that the x64 requires different bullets to the other 2.
given the right bullets and more brass availability, the x64 could make inroads into the 338 up to the 375.

after using the 300 gn sierra boattail sp 375 bullet by sierra and finding it excellent for certain applications, I would like to see an equivalent by them in 9.3mm at 286 gn.

Cutting Edge offers 200 grain and 210 grain Raptors in 9.3. Hammer Bullets has a 240 grain mono-metallic (copper).

The CEB bullets are interesting to me as I just picked up a really nice Huskie 146 chambered in 9.3x57 and feel those weights would lend some versatility to the shorter case. Just not sure if they would play well with an 80 year old rifle.

I really like the norma 230 gr ecostrike. I really wish they would release that bullet to reloaders one of these days.

Old school, I like the 286 gr. bullets, and the 300g gr. Swift in my 9.3x62, even on elk and deer, but mostly on Cape Buffalo..I think the 250 gr. monolithic would be the lightest Id go on the 9.3 and if I needed a lighter bullet than that I would opt for a 338 caliber and maintain the SD and BC...

The Norma 285 grain Oryx has been a good round in my 9.3X62 but I’d like to give the Barnes 250 grain TTSX 9.3 a whirl. A little extra velocity and flatter shooting but still has decent weight behind it.

I have had very good accuracy and performance from Norma 232 Grain Vulcans. I would love to see Speer come out with a 225 or 230 grain bullet in 9.3. I think the 9.3 would be much more popular here if some company would produce bullets with white tails in mind.

Sounds just like the performance I get with 250 grain Nosler accubonds.

Have a couple of boxes of the Norma EcoStrike on order, 230 grain. Going to give them a try this coming fall on white tail. Used my 300 win mag this past fall and felt the magnum was too much. Shots aren’t very long in the hill country and there is a lot of bush, not really the win mag’s prime niche. Think the 9.3x62 with a lighter load would fit the bill nicely. It’s a proven bush gun, the lighter rounds should still punch through brush, the rifle is light and no problem stalking with it all day, but I do wonder about meat damage with the heavier caliber.

Hello Fastrig,

I see a lot of light but strong 9,3 bullets k. Europe.
Anyway, for my taste, perhaps one of the best combination as an all around medium and medium-heavy game bullet for the 9,3x62 would be the 250 grs Nosler Accubond loaded at 2600/2650 fps.

Best!

One of the issues with monolithic bullets in brush is that if the bullet tip is damaged say from hitting brush they are prone to not expanding and just punching a caliber size hole straight thru. But with a .366 size caliber that is still a pretty good size hole. At 9.3x62 speeds I prefer the old tried and true cup and core bullets that made the bullets reputation.

Nosler Accubond 250gr in 9.3x62 is likely to be my next load project. Likely to be driven by Lovex SO62

I got 200 of the factory seconds from Midway USA for a very good price and have had excellent performance from them. 3/4” groups and 2550 FPS out of a 20” barrel makes me very happy. Pushing it with reloader 17

The Barnes 250 gr TTSX are unobtainable right now for some reason. I have one box and will try a few with CFE223 this week. The 250 gr TSX (not tipped) had good accuracy first time out (also CFE223), but the velocity was ~100 fps slower than projected by Quick Load - in my specific rifle. I only chronograped one, so take that with a grain of salt.

RL17 and the 250 Accubond have proven to be accurate and also meet the velocity goal I was looking for. I plan try RL17 with the TSX and TTSX 250s if the CFE223 does not pan out.

I've looked longingly at the GS Custom 230s, but there are no reviews to be found, that I have seen. Plus they are expensive.

I have taken several deer with the 232 Vulcans and you can eat right up to the hole. If you hit bone it does tend to shatter the bone and fragments go in every direction. It is a sledgehammer of a round. No tracking required.

Midway Arms has Lapua 9.3mm 286 gr bullets in 100 count boxes. Very little lead exposed at nose of bullet. Just bought a box - haven't loaded any yet. They look very nice and a reasonable price.

Tonheim bullets in Norway ,which these are collab on license before he passed , a little while ago ,he made the 185, 210 and heavier ones.

These made by NPB now are in 210 ,but more later on i guess .

Hawk has them in 200-320 grains. Even different jacket thicknesses.
