Just ordered a couple of shirts from Kevins for use on the local Sporting Clays courses. I've thought about a vest, but usually opt for a shell bag especially when it gets hot in July and August, so a shooting shirt seemed logical.

I opted for a featherweight short sleeve shirt with the Browning Reactar pocket. I'm not recoil shy at all, but I do start most of my shooting with the gun at a low ready, and mount the gun only after I see the bird. After 100 shots this can be a little rough on the shoulder, more than actual recoil.

Anyone have any experience with Kevins?

They also have a HUGE clothing section for gals.

I've got a couple of those shirts without the pad. Wore one in Africa a good bit and it held up. Very comfortable. I've bought a good bit from them the past few years, their stuff has always been good as well as well as the customer service.

Kinda reminds me of Dunns from back in the day,

Nice. I ordered one! Thanks

I have ordered from Kevin's for years. Good quality stuff. Someone in another thread was looking for a canvas and leather shotgun case and Kevin's has them.

Wasn't sure if a lot of experienced Africa guys were familiar with them. The 100% cotton was something most of us look for in Safari clothing because it dries quickly and you don't have to worry as much about someone scorching it with an iron.

The button down collars don't move me to much one way or the other, but I'd have liked a button down flap on the pocket. An Olive Drab color v the dark green would be nice, but I think they had Quail in Georgia in mind, not Buff in Botswana. Tina and I both chose the tan.

The quality looks very good and the pricing is excellent… if they had a LH version of that shirt I’d order 2 right now…

I’ve got a couple of Orvis shirts that are similar thst are super thin, lightweight cotton (LH) that are perfect for Texas dove hunts where you tend to sweat your ass off in the field in September…. I’d like a couple more…

Yep, I'll bet a light cotton shirt like these would be perfect for opening Dove season. When I liven in Yuma Arizona it got HOT long before you shot your limit, unless you were hunting in the shade by a fruit orchard.

They do have this dual shoulder model in the same featherweight cotton material, but only in long sleeve.
Vented back, and long sleeves. Wonder who's idea that was?

Ill wear long sleeves.. keeps the september mosquitoes at bay lol...

I missed that one when I checked out their website earlier... Im headed there now to buy one to try out :)

Kevin's is a great, old school operation. I've made the trek to their original store in South Ga several times and their N FLA store once. If you're ever in the neighborhood you should stop in and visit with them, nice folks.

its for sun protection i assume, i prefer to hunt with LS, for the sun

I ordered their shooting shirt in Medium. Medium can be a little small on me with some brands but I am tired of sloppy clothing that does not fit. Kevin's shirts run EXTREMELY LARGE!!! This Medium I am trying to send back is what used to be called an XL. I can not wear it and am facing $9.29 to return or EXCHANGE.
Nice clothing but beware of the sizing issues here.

Just got mine and found the same thing. Absolutely love the Flyweight material and construction, but although I normally wear an XL shirt, a Large would have fit me better.

If you look at the sizing chart on their website, all shirt sizes run very large compared to most retailers.

I plan to order 2 more shirts, one long sleeve and one short sleeve for my upcoming hunt, but this time I'll order one size smaller.

Tina is pleased as punch with her ladies shirt from Kevins, but she was smart enough to look at the sizing chart for women.

I ordered the female version of this but with long sleeves. It is the same Khaki color and does not have a left side pocket but instead has two Browning Reactar pockets. I plan on using it for both sporting clays and as a hunting shirt in Africa.

Never thought of Kevin's. I clay shoot with a mesh shooting vest in the hot months.

I’m a big fan! I have several of their featherweight short sleeve shirts. All cotton and light enough that they don’t get heavy with sweat. Good stuff.

Nice Report! Im about to pull the trigger on booking the LDE with Patrick. I have been talking about it with him for about 3 yrs now. Romain hit me up the other day with an offer I can't refuse for 2027.

Andrew, I commented that your on 375 H&H for sale was the fair price.

Like I commented, my classic stainless has the original 24” barrel.

Did you buy yours with the barrel already cut down to 21” or did you do it (or a gunsmith)?
