Has anyone use Kenya Airways out of New York through Nairobi Kenya ending in Johannesburg South Africa?

- What was your experience?
- Would you recommend flying with them?
- What is the dollar amount for them to handle your guns & ammo?
- Does a traveler need a special firearm or ammo permit to go through Kenya?

Their rates are reasonable and there are no checked baggage fees making their rates very attractive.

It is difficult to find details on their website.

Thx,
Frank

I’ve not flown them but my high school buddy that runs a non-profit in Kenya and goes back and forth every month or so never flies them. When I asked about them he said “sometimes they land on the runway.”

Again no firsthand knowledge but that’s from someone whom used to live in Kenya and now splits time back and forth to the states.

Good Info!!!!! Thx. Looking more like United Airlines is worth the extra $$$

I've flown Kenyan without guns. They fly on time, but don't report their flights to Delta and you have to send in your flight to Delta to get credit. I have no first hand experience with guns on Kenyan but I understand they will fly guns.

Thx. I noted the EMD handling charges and was going to call and ask for clarification on that.

Interested in knowing what accidents he talks about, sounds like hearsay. They are fairly big in East Africa and I have used them a lot, never a problem. According to this they have not had many accidents: Wiki

I don’t think he literally meant they had accidents. I think he was simply implying they weren’t a quality or reliable airline.

Be careful of hunting Chewore South, the area has been decimated.....

Curious about this. I hunted Chewore South with D&Y in September and they did tell me it was there last hunt there.

Which outfits shot it out?
