Greetings. I'll be going to Namibia in June 2025 and I'm looking for a taxidermist with experience with African game. I live near Louisville, KY but I'm willing to drive a couple of hours if need be. I'm not originally from this area so I don't have any local connections. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Dave Noem in Union (Boone County) does African game and is a SCI measurer. I haven't had stuff done by him but a friend local to him checked him out and said he does good work.

Not in KY, but just east of Columbus, OH. Highpoint Taxidermy of Thornville, OH did my Namibian hunt. Great work. A lot better than the work done on my first hunt.

I’m in Texas but would love to help you. We mount African game daily as it is about 85% of my business at the studio. I ship coast to coast. I am also an SCI scorer if you are a member and want your trophies scored.

@Duke1966, you will not go wrong with @gizmo as your taxidermist. Some of the above mounts pictured on his replied are mine and let me tell you that the pictures do not justice to the quality of his work.

On the delivery, do not be troubled. @gizmo uses someone who specializes on delivery of mounts. Not cheap, but not overly expensive either. The delivery guy drives up to your driveway with a goose neck trailer, and your mounts are either secured to the walls of the trailer or the floor. I was impressed with their set up, and the driver was an Air Force brother, so I knew the mounts were in good hands.

BTW, I forgot to mention that this delivery goes all over the US, and they have deliveries for different sections of the US. Since I live in GA, I was part of Southeast delivery. It's not that your mounts go on the trailer, and the drivers goes all over the US, until it's your turn. Nope, they don't work that way.

I was in @gizmo shop last week and can vouch for his business ability to do great taxidermy on African and US animals. The leopard you see in the picture is mine and when you walk in my reading room at the house you take a step back as it looks alive.

I am about 30 minutes from Highpoint Taxidermy. They do good work and seem to do a lot of African species.
