Is there a quad-stick in your future?

Back again in October for buffalo and Warthog; TZ again, different area but that hasn't been settled yet. Wherever that is it will be open sights, no sticks of any sort (if at all possible). I realize that is not the norm anymore. I didn't mean to upset anyone.
I believe my brother said USMC sniping was done at 500 yds, with open sights. He nailed it. I, on the other hand struggled at 200 standing, but then I also had a case of buck fever.

In Alaska those quad stix would convert into great chopstix for the bear to eat people with .It would be good for a caribou hunt they are kinda stupid and hang around but bears and moose I would say no .On the tundra it would get you above the underbrush if you had time to use it .

I will probably get a set to just practice off of from time to time.

They seem to be the very in stick setup for a lot of Africa outfits, I used them on two of my last safaris I really wasn’t a fan but I’m sure that had more to do with me not knowing how to properly use them. I got very frustrated a few times with them but looking back I know it was more on me not having used them before. If you have time to setup I think they could be great especially for shot sitting down., it’s tough to beat the reliable traditional tripod style shooting sticks in Africa. For NA and Mountian hunts if you can use a bipod or a spotting scope/ camera tripod with a arcs Swiss setup that’s the ticket.

My long answer is yes to just have a set to play with and better my overall skills on that system.

I built my own quad sticks out of plastic coated aluminum garden stakes. Used them on my WSMR Oryx hunt here in New Mexico to take an old cow at around 350 yards. They are extremely mobile and quick to deploy. If standing shots are anticipated, I don't think there is a better option.

What length sticks did you use?
