I’m including deewayne2003’s original FS ad in this ad with his permission. I bought this rifle from him last December and have been happy with it. The only reason I’m wanting to sell it is to fund another rifle. https://www.africahunting.com/threads/whitworth-express-rifle-375-h-h-for-sale.60773/

The keen observer will note that a deleted member bought the rifle in the thread above and will further deduce that Wishfulthinker580 and the deleted member are one and the same. I did delete my account voluntarily for a time after I made a fool of myself. Nothing nefarious behind it.. I quickly realized my folly and that I had behaved like a little snowflaky millennial girl and rejoined. I bought deewayne2003’s rifle and bought a rifle from ActionBob with logistical help from Royal27. Both were smooth transactions.

I know it’s yesterday’s date on the paper. I was working on this ad last night and babies don’t care whether you’re trying to sell a rifle or not.

I have put 45 (exactly) rounds through it and I know it will shoot better than I can. I never mounted a scope on it. I’m afraid the sight hood may be gone forever but I will keep searching. I have added a scratch or two and a dent.

The rifle will come with 40 rounds of Barnes TSX and 40 rounds of RWS UNI Classic- 80 rounds total.

I will be more than happy to provide more pictures to interested parties but here’s a bunch.

I’ve only hunted with the rifle a handful of times.

Price is $1400 plus shipping AND INSURANCE from my FFL to your FFL. The rifle will be shipped in a brand new Pelican case (I’ll take the rifle sticker off if shipped).

Ammo will be shipped separate TYD along with the keys to locks on Pelican case.

If the rifle is shipped I will need a personal check and will ship after my bank says the check is good.

If we can arrange a FTF sale I will take $1250 for the rifle and ammo and if you happened to want the Pelican case it’ll be $1400. FTF sale will be CASH ONLY. I will be willing to meet in OKC or DFW. Will also go east as far as McAlester, OK or Atoka, OK and as far west as Lawton, OK or Wichita Falls, TX.

My wife and I both work and have a 4 month old. I work an odd schedule as well so please be patient with me and I promise I will make this sale as smooth and quick as possible.

I hereby submit my entry for the “longest ad in AH history” contest :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:. Thanks for looking!

Man that is one great looking rifle. Too bad I have a safari to pay or it would be gone. LOL!!! Good luck on the sale.

Based on stamp, left side of receiver (behind "manchester england") it should be quality pre-war production (pre-90), action by zastava, based on their model m70 . At that time imported by interarms, under name MARK X - model. It is really good looking, very nice rifle. Good luck with selling!

Thank you sir!

Very nice rifle. Is it local (TX and OK) only? Wasn't quite sure from the post. Nicely done ad, longest in history or not. I live in CA.

Thank you sir. No sir, I am willing to ship to CA. I apologize for any confusion.

Pre war production?? Most likely, LOL. Which war?

But yeah, they started making these in 1974, this one is fairly early, probably mid to late '70s. The date code is on the right where the screw holes are for a peep sight, but cant make it out in the pics.
GLWS.

Serial number starts with B101***. Not sure but maybe this will help?

Can you make out the date code where it should be on the right rear side of receiver? That will have the actual date, usually seen as example (10/80).
I think we established this previously with the PO but I forget now.

Well, I did write pre-90, to mark the era in the part you qouted. It refers to era before the Balcan wars of the nineties.
But, considering your next comment, and where the 4 digit date stamp should be, I am guessing you knew that.

Yep my bad I forgot about it. Shows 11/75 so a 1975 rifle.

So november 1975. The older, the better!

The war would have been the one resulting in the dismemberment of Yugoslavia.

But about the front sight hood- I have never figured out why gunmakers slide the hood on from the front. It would make more sense for them to slide them on from the back so that acceleration force due to recoil would tighten them into place rather than having them slide forward and off.

Selling later the spare parts, once the original gets lost, maybe?

Thats why I asked which war. Thought thats what you meant.
Guess I am of the age group that still automatically thinks WWII whenever someone says pre war.

Just realized how I put the rifle in the vise :ROFLMAO::A Bonk:
My old dad was forever putting nice rifles and pistols in a vice to "tinker" with them! Left grill marks on many a fine gun. "Its just a tool son", he would say.
Friend of his said next time he went over to see my dad he was going to steal that vice and never give it back!

2nd year production. My recent .458 is of first year production with a 2 digit SN. My .375 is from 1983, bought it new in 1984 and still have it.
