Impossible to find used heym double rifle

In 2020 people were sending me shitty PM’s for trying to sell this 88 .470 new in box with upgraded wood for $18K; which was what the owner paid for it and waited 3 years for delivery.

“What world does your friend live in where he thinks he’s going to get sticker price for that gun?”

Rifle was sold and shipped in two days!

Some people should’ve been used car dealers with the way they want people to give stuff away. Or maybe they are used car dealers. A Heym is nearly like a Rolex at this point

I bought a Heym sidelock .375 at auction in the UK and a very nice Krieghoff 500/416 from a dealer in Spain and imported them. I am in Canada and it is very easy to import a hunting rifle, I understand it’s harder in the USA but I saved a lot of money by buying overseas and importing them.

Ok I have been trying to contact Heym about wait times and prices. Left voicemail and and e-mail. No response so far. Hard to find a used one even harder to find order info.
Heym customer service in the USA is a joke to put it as softly as I can.

Yep, the old saying "You're gold is shit and my shit is gold" rings very true, especially when you are dealing with guns over the $10K mark.

I was actually considering buying a Heym back in 2019 and walked up to their booth at DSC and started asking questions; the older man working the booth was as pompous and arrogant as they day is long.

I had a very different experience when dealing with Heym USA. I met Chris briefly at the Heym booth at SCI but I spent most of my time with the older gent as Chris was busy on his computer, etc. Totally understandable. I handled a few of the rifles they had at the booth and the older fellow was informative and generous with his time despite several others standing around the booth, I suppose looking to do the same. Just a few weeks ago I called the main number at Heym USA. Chris picked up on his cell phone while he was in the car driving to deliver a rifle to a customer. He spent over 30 min with me answering all of my questions and talking in depth about the specifics of the 89B, options, etc. He said if I had any other further questions or wanted to talk more about specifics or look further at options, etc. to send him an email and he would get back to me. Very professional discussion and very informative. The 24 month wait time will push a new order past my next hunt in 2027 but fortunately, since then I ended up buying a new 89B in 470 from a fellow AH member that I picked up from Mr. Perodeau on Monday, which he cut to my 14.5 inch LOP and milled for my SRO. Stay patient, keep looking, and the right rifle will come along for you.... and this site is a great resource full of great people and most are always happy to help along the way. Good luck with your search!

Someone has to be getting the service or Heym wouldn’t be selling at all.

Your experience sounds very familiar, I wonder how the follow up would have gone. That’s where I always had problems.

Different price range, but again want to plug Guy at H&H in Dallas. The two are probably 30 minutes apart by car, but light years away from each other in terms of service.

Very, very beautiful rifles but sadly beyound my budget.

Heym contacted me today. They confirmed what others have posted, 32000 and 2 year wait. I will wait to see if I can find one used. I'm getting to old to wait. I need to do my bucket list while I am still able.

Heym 88 or Heym 89 at 32K?

Is $32k the PH model and includes all taxes, tarrifs and stamps?

88 or 89 both were the same, 32k ish. PH model wasn't quoted to me, not sure if its available. Don't know what all was quoted to the other guys.

Summary of what I was told a few weeks ago: 32k is for the border scroll only and basic grade wood, which is already nice. Wood upgrades and upgrades to scroll packages or Case color, etc are additional. I don’t believe taxes or shipping are included in that number. Pricing upgraded wood, grade two scroll and case color hardening with a few tasteful gold accents put you in the $40k range. 88B or 89B and all frame sizes are the same price. I only got a quote. Others that have ordered recently may have more detailed info.

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
