I'm looking for advice for my first safari: what ammunition for 9.3?

Hello everyone. First of all, please excuse my English, as I don't speak it and I use Google Translate.
I would like to congratulate everyone on this fantastic forum, where I greatly appreciate the camaraderie, courtesy, and respect.
I am preparing my first safari for 2027 and I have found a lot of very useful (and essential) information on this forum.
I decided to make the trip about four months ago and since then I have been making my lists and optimizing my equipment, as I was missing almost everything because what I had wasn't suitable.
I will probably go to Limpopo with a Spanish agency for about 8-10 days. In this area, I expect to shoot at short distances with the bush in between.
I also made my trophy lists: I started with a dozen…then five…and now three: eland, bushbuck, and warthog…and from there, I'll see how it goes.
I recently bought an R8 in .30-06 at a good price and found a used 9.3x62 barrel (which, at 100m, hits the target with 247gr KS pellets, with which I've already bagged three does and one stag on three of our hunts).
And here's the question I want to ask: what commercial ammunition do you recommend for the 9.3 for my targets?
In Spain, there isn't much choice for this caliber and large game (here, the largest is around 150-180kg), and searching online, I found RWS TUG 293gr, Norma Orix 285gr, and Nosler Trophy Grade Accubond 250gr.

All comments and opinions are welcome.

Thanks everyone.

¡Bienvenido, amigo!

What Hunter Habib said, maybe, I think?

I am thinking that HH is a big fan of the caliber Luiko should use the Norma Oryx 285 grain.

If available, Lapua makes good ammo for the 9.3x62. They have it in 250gr Naturalis and 285gr Mega.

In general I prefer the Norma Oryx bullet instead of the RWS TUG. The Oryx is the more reliable bullet.
If you can get ammunition with the Accubond, I would chose this bullet, because you will have an improved ballistic (flatter shooting).
With both bullets you will have good results.

250 grain Barnes TSX has become a modern standard for plains game and cape buffalo.

Available in factory ammunition in the USA.

Not sure about europe

For the species mentioned, pretty much anything in the 285-286gr will work just fine at 9.3x62 velocities, that's the beauty of this calibre.
As mentioned, the Norma Oryx work fine and tend to be very accurate in most guns. Any of the premium bullets will work but probably aren't necessary for plains game.

Given the likelihood of dense bush and close shots in Limpop, I'd be looking at heavy and slow bullets rather than <250gr monos. Even the 320gr Woodleighs or 325gr Oryx would be preferable.

I take Swift A-Frames in 286 grains. For my leopard I would take the Speer 270 grain for fast expansion

Hunter Habib I didn't realize you spoke Spanish?

Why yes, Beck. I do.

I can speak English, Bengali, Hindi, French, Italian, Spanish, German & Turkish. And a few sentences of Swahili, Dutch, Norwegian,Thai, Malayan & Japanese.

I try to learn a new language at least once every five years. My grandfather had Alzeimers Disease during his advanced years before his passing. As did his father. So it might be a hereditary condition amongst the male members of our family. My father (aged 93) and I fortunately are still of sound mind. But we take all sorts of mental exercises in order to keep our minds sharp.

After my tenure as IGF hopefully comes to an end next year, I intend to join a Japanese speaking class and hope to master fluency in that language by 2028.
