@Hornedfrogbbq - MY OWN PROPERTY, as much as I like to travel and Hunt new places (especially for animals Not found in my area) there is nothing more enjoyable (for Me) then hunting on my own land. It’s not that it’s Great or even that large - But’s it’s mine and that always adds something. If money were Not a factor - then I’d Buy even more land, maybe 100,000 acres in Wyoming or Montana to start with.So dream me up your dream trip. Money is always and forever an issue so I understand the premise can be seen as dumb and I appreciate your grace in allowing us to dream. In this scenario, it will all be paid for.
Where would you go hunt (please be very specific -- concession, exact camp, etc) and who would guide you.
Further, please allow yourself to go to different places for different animals. Lions here, buffalo there, LDE here, jumbo there. Each with their own area specified and PH/outfitter specified.
Wow that is a list and you know a lot of folks. I hope it comes true.Well, if money and time was absolutely not a concern I’d spend a couple years hunting, fishing and bird shooting around the world. I’d start with a hunt I had an opportunity to go on back in the mid-80’s but passed up the chance. And I’d do all these taking my son, daughter and their families, or a few close friends along on various hunts to fulfill their dreams alongside me.
That first hunt (the one I passed on) would be spending a month hunting the 3 argali’s in Mongolia, as well as their ibex. Back then that hunt was $35,000 all-in and I declined the invitation to join a couple local hunters who were going. One guy shot a 59” ram and the other a 61” ram, they filled all their tags. After Mongolia would be Tajikistan for Marco Polo & Ibex, Pakistan for Markhor and Kazakhstan for Marla Stag, Ibex & Roe Deer.
After that it’d be full bag 21-30 day hunts across Africa. Tanzania in the Selous, Northern & Southern Masailand, Moyowasi, Rungwa, all with Alan Vincent. Zambia in Kasonso Busanga with Fico Vidale, then Upper Lupande, Bangweulu and Tondwa with Johnny DuPlooy. Ethiopia would be a big, long one probably with Nassos & Jason Roussos. CAR, not sure who with but I’d have Alan Vincent with me (his dad always wanted to hunt CAR), Cameroon with Thierry Labat, Mozambique with Neal Duckworth in C9 & Mahimba, then Dave Langerman in Niassa. Namibia with Divan Labuschagne, South Africa for a few things like bushbuck with Ernest Dyason, Botswana for big ivory with Tholo, and finish it all up back where I started my African hunting, in Zimbabwe with Alan Vincent. We’d hunt Savé, Nuanetsi, Bubyé, Matetsi and one final hunt on Deka where I enjoyed my first African hunt and best hunt of my life.
I shudder to think of what all of that would cost but I’d have a good time chasing an incredible dream, hunting lik I was Jay Mellon.
OK, now back to reality.![]()
1. Altai Argali on horseback in Tajikistan/ Mongolia.
2. Polar Bear in the Arctic with local tribe.
3. Giant Coastal Brown Bear in Alaska.
4. Pygmy Forest Elephant Bull in Congo.
5. Twenty-one day foot safari for an ancient, broken-tusked elephant Bull in Nyae-Nyae Conservancy, Namibia with Kai Uwe.
6. Take my young son for his first Kudu Bull on foot with same 30-06 that I used for my 1st Bull when I was 9 years old. [ have to be patient...only 5 now . First guinea-fowl, then impala ].
Yes, a rather extensive list. Not likely since I don’t have $10 million disposable laying around. And 10 might not do it all.Wow that is a list and you know a lot of folks. I hope it comes true.
