I just added another Big Bore to the Family - a Kimber 375 H&H

Lovely rifle! Yours is in stellar condition.

I have a Clackamas-made 89 SuperAmerica in .375 that I bought to hunt, and it was my primary rifle on my first PG safari. I’ve considered selling it, as it’s now a bit redundant, but it fits me like it’s built for me and is ridiculously accurate to boot.

One thing to be aware of - some of these rifles had some “assembly issues”, shall we say. For instance, mine had soft bedding, a canted front sight, and an extremely sticky safety lever. I had a competent gunsmith correct all of these issues and all is now as it should be.

Beautiful rifle, great caliber!! I’ve taken a lot of game with my Kimber Talkeetna which is also .375H&H!

Proper choice in every respect. Classic. Congratulations, Buckstix.

Using the take elephant anywhere scenario, history would suggest the 9.3x62 as the starting point.
In which case .35 Whelen is basically the same. I’d use either above but admittedly wouldn’t feel the most confidence. Same for 9.3x74mmr.
Stepping up to 9.3x64 doesn’t give much feeling of confidence boost, despite the increased ballistics and basically equaling .375 H&H.
Yet stepping up to a .375 H&H..I know I’d get that confidence in it.

Just running through scenarios in my mind and how they make me feel. Fun little exercise. Now if I was to hunt elephant, that .375 confidence would be interesting to see if it’s still there.

On topic - congrats on the pic up, lovely rifle.

That’s a sharp looking rifle! I like that quarter rib, well executed! I have a new 375 coming to me aswell. Can’t wait to put my paws in it!
