So just curious why not have gunsmith remkve front sight. Thread barrel. Make a blind insert like a shotgun choke thats a mm or two longer thsn barrel and solder on front sight again about an 1/8 short of barrel end. And make a supressor adaptor with a blind screw in option?. Then unsuppressed it sould look like normal rifle and part of adaptor wojkd thread under part of the front sigght.

Because it costs more money and with the suppressor on it would block the front sight anyways and I only hunt with scopes so it wasn’t a big deal to me.

Have you shot it yet? Did it change how the rifle groups?

Shot it today without the suppressor but it was at about 1.5in groups at 100 yards.

Suppressor came in today. As promised here’s a pic of it on the Ruger no 1. It’s a 375 cal suppressor, bought mainly for my 375 H&H but will work excellent on the 30-06 as well. Taking it and others to the range tomorrow.

Well back from the range today! Shot a lot of rifles with the suppressor but around 20 rds through the Ruger no 1. IMO the accuracy was greatly improved using the suppressor and the recoil was barely noticeable, when beforehand it was pretty stout in the short light rifle.
I was in my own land so shot it without my ear muffs and was extremely pleased with the noise levels. The “ping” of the steel circle I was shooting was louder than the sound of the gunshot at around 50 yards. Out at 100 yards the rifle shot groups of 1in even with a fairly hot barrel towards the end. Extremely happy with the suppressor and the modifications on the No 1 to get it threaded. Would recommend to others!!!!!!

Very cool. I support it. Rifle is a tool, if it needs a mod in order to be better or get used more often then it should get the mod.

I’m having an M70 chopped short and threaded right now. It’s gonna get a red dot and be a year round truck and woods rifle. It won’t look the way it’s suppose to look, but it’s gonna look like a rifle that gets used…. And a rifle that gets used is always better than one that doesn’t.

AND, if someone doesn't like it and it upsets them... well, that just makes it all the sweeter...

Good deal! I understand the recoil, they are light weight. I have the same rifle in 7x57 and love it.
