Has anybody been hunting in Fish River Canyon in Namibia?
I am interested to know about the type of terrain, game hunted, or seen? Fences or no fences?
General prices etc?

It is supposed to be real free range, free roaming, no roads, no fences hunt? Or not?
Are the prices and daily rates generally higher then elswhere. or similar?

Any info is highly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi Mark

I grew up close to it, and still hunt some on the sheep farms around there. Technically you cannot hunt IN the Canyon, but you can certainly hunt close to it. Game you are likely to encounter are mountain zebra, kudu, gemsbok, springbok, duiker, steenbok, klipspringer, baboon, black backed jacal and if you are extremely lucky, leopard. Here's a few pics of a hunt me and a friend did on a low fenced farm close to the canyon last year.

It is actually much more mountainous than it looks from the pics, but it does form these big flat platues as can be seen from above.

Looking for shipping advice. I will be hunting in Limpopo in March, and was wanting to know a general idea of shipping costs to return my mounts to the US when completed. Air or sea? Only plains game hunting.

Good morning 7MAG. I have a NEW, never mounted, Leupold M8-4X Extended Eye Relief scope that I will sell you for $325 shipped to you. I was a Leupold rep for 12 years and this was always our preferred mounting for a lever gun, scout rifle style.

You’ve got an interesting screen name. Will the Thrill provided lots of great times for me as a lifelong Giants fan. Even though I never met him, a number of buddies either duck hunted or shared a dugout with him. He’s a great guy according to those guys. Cool screen name and if that’s your real name, it’s a great one.
