Hehe I did this on my iPhone and couldn’t get it smaller.

But in general, when I see pictures of where to shoot I always find that the tiny dot that people put is not representative of reality either. Because in the heat of the action, you should aim for the place where you’ll have the largest room for error. You never know if the animal moves at the last moment, you happen to have a bad trigger press or just shaking from excitement.

The bigger dot represents for me the fact that if I aim to its exact center, even I wander off within that circle, anywhere inside I’ll still inflict a rapid mortal wound.

But happy to listen to the thoughts of the more experienced hunters

I understand what you are saying and its a great way of looking at it. You have nailed it with this statement above.

My personal experience has always been that hunters tend to shoot Cape Buffalo too high. I have seen so many shots that were on the borderline between a mortal shot and a wounding shot, thankfully majority going the correct side of the line.
I think that you have nailed it with your representation.
