KMG Hunting Safaris are for hunters by hunters. From your time of arrival, you will be treated to the hunting experience that you deserve.

Our passion for hunting and vast experience in the industry allows us to assure that your satisfaction is guaranteed.
We fully believe in the spirit of fair chase in all of our hunting endeavors and our stance on conservation through hunting is evident by the abundance of game in our hunting areas.

KMG Hunting Safaris offers both plains game and dangerous game hunting safaris across the entire South Africa, depending on the hunters’ needs, as well as neighbouring countries for specialized species.

We also offer a variety of activities for hunters as well as the non hunters which includes deep sea fishing trips and game drives among others, to lunch in a cave with native bushman drawings scattered on the overhanging walls, telling a century's worth of history, locked in time forever.

Whether you hunt Africa for the first time, as an experienced hunter or battle hardened bwana, the Dark Continent's impact on our lives never seems to fade. Africa gets born inside all of us.

When we are not trekking across her face, she calls out to us to return.

This is what we do. This is Africa.

About us

KMG Hunting Safaris offers packaged as well as custom made hunting safaris across the entire Southern and Western Africa, which includes countries such as South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. We offer fair chase hunting in both fenced and unfenced areas, depending on the hunter’s needs.

Whether you are completing the elusive Tiny 10, to the notorious big 5, KMG Hunting Safaris will always strive to put you on top quality animals, which is evident from our excellent management strategies.

Apart from hunting most of the provinces in South Africa, our main base camp is situated in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The Eastern Cape offers 35+ species that may be hunted legally. Our areas vary in sizes from 7000 acres to 60,000 acre conservancies, and we will often use areas in close proximity to hunt different species of target. Through our experience, we have found that by spreading the hunting pressure over a few areas has paid dividends both in animal numbers and trophy quality.

Due to the terrain in the Eastern Cape, being mountains, hills and valleys, the main method of hunting is mostly spot and stalk. Each one of our qualified and highly experienced Professional Hunters will adapt to the hunter’s needs, no matter what his or her capabilities.

Join us now to hunt the Dark Continent. One chance. One Shot. Take It.

Marius Goosen
Professional Hunter, Outfitter and Owner

Marius, a qualified PH, and still very active in his operation, was born and raised in the Eastern Cape. He started hunting from a young age, and after realising his passion in life, he wanted to make hunting his lively hood. He completed his Professional Hunters licence with the Eastern Cape Academy of Professional Hunting.

After four years working as an apprentice Professional Hunter and gaining the necessary experience, Marius decided that it was time to take control of his own destiny where he could ensure client satisfaction through good, hard and ethical hunting. Hence, KMG Hunting Safaris was established.

Hunting With KMG Hunting Safaris

Hunting the Eastern Cape

KMG Hunting Safaris are for hunters by hunters. From your time of arrival, you will be treated to a hunting experience that you will remember for the rest of your life. Our passion for hunting, ethics, professionalism and honesty allows us to assure you that the effort put into your visit, exceed all expectations and beyond.

We offer both plains game and dangerous game hunts and our main operational area is the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. We also offer hunts in other provinces, as well as neighbouring countries when it comes to specialised species.

The Eastern Cape offers a huge diversity in terrain, also the very reason why so many hunters choose it as their hunting destination. Due to this diversity, it offers the province the ability to sustain over 30 different huntable species. The Eastern Cape’s terrain fluctuates from mountainous thickets to grass plains in a matter of a few hundred yards and boasts an abundance of game.

As we strive to hunt each species in their natural habitat, it is sometimes required to travel short distances to these areas in pursuit of these species. From the mountains, where the elusive grey ghost of Africa, the Kudu Bull moves ever so carefully, to the open plains where the graceful gazelles, the Springbok feeds, the Eastern Cape has it all.

One of the main attractions that make the Eastern Cape the desired choice for hunting is the fact that it is Malaria and Bilharzia-free. The climate in the Eastern Cape is quite comfortable .In the winter during the months of April-August temperatures range from 7 degrees Celsius (44.6 degrees Fahrenheit) to 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit) and 26 degrees Celsius (77.8 degrees Fahrenheit), this is ideal hunting conditions.

The climate rarely reaches extremes except perhaps in the height of the Karoo summer. Its nature depends not so much upon how it changes, but how much you move across the province’s expanse and into and out of different climatologically zones. The months from mid April to end July are generally viewed upon as the best hunting months, since it is during this time that most of our animals are in the rut.

Method of Hunting
The method of hunting that we use very successfully is known as spot and stalk. Here, we drive through the terrain to certain lookout spots. These vantage points allow us to get an eagle-eye view of the area in our pursuit to spot animal herds or lone mature, trophy animals. Once a mature animal has been identified, the hunter with his guide will pursue the target animal by foot.

The terrain and vegetation in the Eastern Cape, allows for hunters to get an excellent view across valleys, using the shade in the early mornings or late afternoons to mask their movement on the opposite mountain face. Once the distance has been narrowed to an acceptable range, the hunter will get comfortable on the shooting sticks and take the shot in his own time upon the animal presenting a clear and unhurried shot.

AT KMG HUNTING SAFARIS, WE PRACTISE ETHICAL HUNTING AT ALL TIMES AND BELIEVE IN THE SPIRIT OF FAIR CHASE
