Hello all. So here in the deal. I've already purchased a trip to hunt in South Africa for some friends and myself, and due to some unfortunate circumstances a couple people who were planning on coming are now not going to be joining. I've hunted in South Africa a couple of times, but for the others it's a new experience. If anyone is interested in joining, send me a message and feel free to ask away!
Here's a brief rundown. The hunt is situated in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. The package includes day fees for 7 hunting days and trophy fees for 2 animals. Accommodations are for 11 days (10 nights), so there are a couple of extra days to go golfing, sightseeing, photo Safari, just relax, or go hunting those days too if you wish. The regular things are included such as your meals, maid service, pool access, internet, laundry service, and whatnot. There are some other on-site activities to do if you wish, as well as some off-site activities that may also be an option to add on. Pick up and drop off at the airport in Kimberly is provided. I will most likely be driving from Johannesburg.
All in all it should be a great time without breaking the bank at $850.

Maybe give us some info like who, what are the two animals, maybe a price list for others, and when.
This isn’t an auction thing is it.

I received some info back from Cam Moon, via PM, regarding this hunt.

It will take place end of April, 11 days, in the North Cape, with Mount Carmel Safaris. Possibly 2x1 hunt.

For additional animals and prices you can check out mountcarmelsafaris.com

Unfortunately (for me) bad timing of this hunt; it is at the front end of my May hunt.

If anyone is interested I recommend contacting Cam via PM for more details.

Perhaps anyone who has hunted with Mount Carmel Safaris will chime in.

Maybe I should have asked more for this hunt........ Priced too low can scare people off!
I've already paid for it, and I'm just trying to get some money back. I thought it would be an awesome opportunity for a first timer to hunt Africa without spending much of anything.

    Cam,

Why not list what 2 animals a hunter can choose?

Confirm if this is a 2x1 or 1x1 hunt.

Besides being late April, how about giving members the actual dates of the hunt (from/to)?

Is $850.00 all inclusive...(the price +/- of 2 animals you are offering).....not including airfare, tips, taxidermy, extra animals, other off site excursions? Or are there other fees?

From the price lists and animals available, per Mount Carmel Safaris' website, this does not to appear to be one of those spooky auction hunts. IMO, Mount Carmel Safaris Prices are competitive to most other South Africa outfitters' hunts.

The dates are April 29 through May 09, but we get be able to switch to a week earlier. (Arrive the 20 to 21) You will hunt 2x1 or possibly even 3x1 depending on the group. You can select two animals from Blesbok, Springbok, Duiker, Warthog, Fallow Deer, Steenbok, and Ostrich. It includes accommodations, food, PH, trackers and ground staff, laundry, housekeeping, etc.
All other excursions are extra. As are tips, flights, taxidermy, trophy shipping, etc. Rifle hire is $50/day. Bring some good hiking boots.

I bought a package and had a couple friends drop out. Now with it just around the corner, I'm either out that money or try to get back what I can. If two people take me up on the offer that's $2000 CAD, which is better than nothing!

I'm waiting to hear back from two people. One is in if he can get time off work, and another is running it past the department of war and finance. LOL

I’ve hunted with Andri Van Zyl at Mount Carmel Safaris before and will vouch that he has a wonderful place. He is a good guy and runs a good operation. Plenty of quality game and some very cool things to see while there. Right on the property is Boesmansgat(bushman’s hole). This hole has been dived to a depth of 927’ and several have died diving it. It is well worth the time to go explore it while there.
I was there in 2010 and spoke to Andri a year or so ago at HSC show, many improvements have been made since I have been there. My only regret was not taking a Black Wildebeest while I was there.
Feel free to PM me if you would like any further details of my hunt there.

    Cheers,
    Cody
