Excerpt: Winter Edition 2022 Helicopter Life:
Reading Renate Buchner’s story of poaching in South
Africa underlines the fragility of life on the planet and
our ability to do something about it. It would seem that
all was going well in the world of Jana Meyer and the Hope for
Wildlife in Africa mission, then the cost of the helicopter got
too high for its owner, he decided to back out of the project and
suddenly the mission was in trouble.
Luckily, thanks to support from the Serondella Game Lodge
and the MJA Wildlife Fund, Jana has been able to purchase a
new Robinson R44, but, as the article shows, for a while Jana’s
future and that of the counter-poaching organization looked
very rocky.
Anybody interested in helping with the counter-poaching
efforts should look on Jana’s website: hopeforwildlife.africa
