Hi fellas and gals, been thinking about this gun for a while now, my question is, would this be an adequate round for the smaller antelopes? And is there a solid? I'm not sure.

Mate, the things Australians get done with little lever-actions... a .44 Magnum will be fine. You already know that you’d be hunting for the passion of using your lever-action, so you naturally accept getting closer. No worries! Have fun!
